This case is eerily similar to the still unsolved Michael and Mary Short case, right down to the time of day and home selection (home located right off of a well-traveled artery/thoroughfare). Sure, it's a long way from Virginia and NC, but people move and truckers travel.

JMO.

Great find. So per the police report , Dad opened the door. That means no damage to the door . They shot him as soon as he opened the door? So is it likely he knew who was at the doo?
MOm and Jayme would hve to hide.

Has LE ever confirmed (or has it been reported) that Jayme has her own phone? I recall LE stating that they had recovered the phone that placed the 911 call, and the release of the dispatch logs strongly suggests that the recovered phone was Denise's (although she may or may not have placed the 911 call). If Jayme does have a phone, I'm not certain they've recovered it, which means that they may only be working with anything backed up on the cloud or synced to a computer or another backup device.

I'm not certain James and Denise would give Jayme her own phone fresh out of the gate. Most couples I know with kids start with sharing devices to see how responsibly the kids use it. I know we've seen many photos of Jayme with a phone, but could that have been her mother's phone or a device that would work with wifi, but without cell service (a Touch or an old phone)? I bet that someone in her life would see fit to give her a hand-me-down device at some point, and if it's a wifi-only device, it would make her electronic footprint more difficult to track.

If her parents gave her a phone/device, they likely monitored her use ... but I'd also guess that Jayme's friends would know how to circumvent monitoring, or she could easily google it. That would make Jayme a normal 13-year-old.

I'll also mention that sometimes kids who are shy and quiet in person find it easier to communicate online / virtually / electronically than they do in real life.
Someone posted the transcripts to an Ashley Banfield interview with the Sheriff. In that interview the Sheriff was asked about Jayme's phone and the Sheriff said that he didn't know if her phone was with her. It was in a part of the interview where the Sheriff was talking about obtaining information from "the social media platform" (not said which one) and all of that suggests to me that they don't have Jayme's phone.

Totally my guess, but I was thinking they went to relatives' houses to notify them in person of their loss, and to check whether JC might be sleeping over.
I would say that if names weren't mentioned on the actual dispatch log as persons driving by house more than once.

I am in Boston but I listen to family, friends and all of you. I whole heartedly believe that they are all victims. Even within disecting 911 call.

That's the beauty of WS. We come from diverse places and backgrounds, some with extensive backgrounds in understanding every part of an autopsy report, some with analytical minds to understand and " feed" the known info to those who aren't quite getting it right.

Thanks for your recent input into this case and hopefully, each of us offers a piece of a large puzzle which helps others in some way at least some of the time. ;)

That was what I was most curious about in the log- the call to the Casino. Other than for security tapes, what would be the cause to call them so quickly? I’ve had a bad feeling about the Casino from the start, and I’m not quite sure why
I’m not familiar with how Wisconsin Tribal Casinos operate, but at a bare minimum they have extensive surveillance. If they’re using a modern surveillance system they have the ability to adjust resolution on each specific camera and by default the exterior camera facing the highway are almost certainly recording at low res to save disk space. It would make sense to ask the casino to record at high res and monitor the cameras in real time.

It doesn't say that dad "opened" the door, but that dad "answered" the door. It also says that the door was kicked in.

Wouldn't they realize someone was missing from her room and bed? How do we know it took 3 hours? Could that be the time it took to get out the Amber Alert?

They would have to rule out that she was not at a family member or friends' house. Without someone like a parent to report her missing they needed to confirm with someone that she was supposed to be home and was not home when they arrived.

It took additional time and guidance from FBI to issue the Amber alert. Note the FBI was called 30 minutes after declaring that JC was in fact missing.

I don't think Barron has a scanner feed available to the public. I looked early on and I wasn't able to locate it.
People buy and have scanners in their homes. If you have a scanner and live in range of the radios the scanner will pick it up and you will hear whatever is going on.

What I think you are talking about is something like Broadcastify where feeds exist only where someone who has a scanner feeds that radio traffic out over the internet. There could be hundreds of people in the area with scanners but none of them are feeding the radio traffic over the internet.

I'm getting Lauria Bible and Ashley Freeman vibes with this case, sans the fire. Their believed killer was just arrested this year, although their bodies were never recovered. However, that was drug-related. I don't know if that is the case here or not. From what I've read thus far, it sounds like it's not, but it's often hard to tell so early in an investigation. People live double lives.

According to the neighbor, gunshots were a common occurrence in the area. If this is a high crime area, then someone may have seen a crime of opportunity - either a local, or an acquaintance of a local. I've heard of criminals picking the house with the lights on to attack. If the dad got home from work late, the killer could have followed the dad in and held him at gunpoint to gain entry. The neighbors said they don't open the door when they'd bring over their mail even if they were home, which leads me to believe they were safety-conscious people. If I'm home and someone I don't know comes to the door, even if it is a neighbor, I'm unlikely to answer (especially if I'm home alone) for safety reasons. Also if it's an unsafe neighborhood in general (gunshots frequently going off), they likely didn't trust their neighbors. They also don't sound like the type of people to leave their doors unlock, so it makes sense that the perp gained entry when her dad came from work, whatever time that was (I read midnight, but I don't know if that was rumor or speculation).

Then there's poor Jayme. Where is she? I hope she's found safe and sooner rather than later.

I’m assuming they went through the house, saw her room, and it was obvious that there was no child victim, they did due diligence in attempting to locate her at a friend or relatives house, and when they were unable to locate her, it was verified that she was missing. Remember, this happened between 1230 and 3 am (when the amber alert was issued). Not a whole lot of people are up at that time.
Another thought that came to mind is if perps may have taken pictures/video on mom's phone intentionally and that they called 911. That may be how they determined JC was there.
