I had some thoughts earlier about what Leonard's shocker might be, but didn't submit the post when we learned of the chloroform. But in case that wasn't what he was referring to, I'll post it anyway, see if there are some ideas we can kick around. I'm sure he'll tell us more on NG!
**************
I hate to even let my mind wonder into the territory I'm about to broach...please bear with me, trying to think this through as I type it...
Remember how Cindy has been suggesting that urine might be what was "mistaken" for decomp in the trunk? I remember her trying to question Dr. K. about that a while back on NG, saying (like last night) that she herself at times had left Caylee's dirty diapers in the trunk til they could get home and toss them.
What if....instead of merely trying to point away from decomp....she's also trying to plant the seed with the diaper theory that there is a reasonable explanation for actual urine/bodily fluid stains from Caylee to have been in that trunk? You know that LE has gone over it with a fine-tooth comb. What if they found several separate urine/fecal/saliva/mucous/vomitus stains, as in Caylee was put into that trunk multiple times while alive and suffered greatly on more than one occasion.
LE has said there is other corroborating evidence they haven't released to the public -- but what if they did release at least some of it to Cindy, maybe sat her down and said, "Look, here's the hair decomp and the air samples, and then we also have x, y, z. There's no doubt she's gone, Cindy." Or maybe LE shared more with Baez to motivate him to get Casey to accept the limited immunity, and then he in turn shared with Cindy...or...could be she has known everything from the beginning, right from the horse's mouth. In any of those scenarios, while WE might not know what the other corroborating evidence is, Cindy very well could! Her comments about the urine may have dual purpose (refute decomp/explain pre-death bodily fluid stains).
So...what if Leonard has also been made privy to or somehow come across further forensic results. Could this be the type of "world-shocking" news he refers to, additional body fluids or toxicology on hair from a dead Caylee; or the same from a live Caylee (such that it shows a pattern of horrible abuse); evidence she was left to suffocate in that trunk (scratch marks from her tiny fingernails leaving trace blood/tissue DNA) -- perhaps evidence she was IN that bag at some point?
I've always felt an accident of some sort (perhaps drowning) happened with Caylee at her family's home (hence dog hits on areas of the yard), and that Casey panicked and put Caylee in the trunk to dispose of her. I really didn't buy into her having stashed a live Caylee in the trunk while she partied (besides risk to Caylee, there's the risk of her waking and screaming and Casey being found out).
With each day that passes, however, I'm less skeptical of theories I once thought were just way too out there. I still tend to think accident/coverup and that it could have included unintentional overdosing, but I now wouldn't discount the Xanax=ZannyNanny theory that many of you have had from the get-go, and perhaps we're gonna find out from hair toxicology that she was indeed drugged (if not Xanax, perhaps massive benadryl doses...and if she weren't stashed in the trunk while Casey partied, perhaps she was simply drugged to get her to sleep so she didn't interrupt mommy's fun whenever she was dragged along to places she shouldn't have been).
I sure PRAY TO GOD IN HEAVEN that not one single bit of ANY of that is true. Unfortunately, there is the very real chance that whatever shocking news LP referred to could be one of VERY MANY things we've kicked around here. And while it might shock the general public, maybe it won't really shock those of us who have followed the case indepth. It would take a hell of a huge something to shock me at this point.
People...this is where CINDY ANTHONY has caused my mind to go. I have come to believe that ANYTHING she says is somehow a total perversion of the truth, leaving me to wonder why she is REALLY saying it.
I swear, she has made me so suspicious of her every word, and I am so totally NOT normally this way. I try to work off whatever facts we have in a criminal case and not draw too many inferences or conclusions on all the what-ifs. But at this point, if Cindy were to even casually mention that she'd left some muffins on the counter the morning they left, I would be wondering why she mentioned it and whether she might really be trying to set up an explanation for opioids in Caylee's system (they were poppy seed muffins, dontcha know!).
Ugh. I hate thinking this way, but I just can't help it. I have to wonder WHY Cindy Anthony says every single thing she does (even the seemingly most innocuous of things) and HOW it could possibly benefit Casey's defense.
As horrible as Caylee's death is under any scenario, I want to think an accident like drowning happened; that Casey went into a panic and tried to hide Caylee's body, and that she put Caylee in the trunk AFTER she was deceased. I am really afraid we're going to find out she suffered in that trunk while she was ALIVE.
This is exactly why Caylee's body HAS to be found -- so that LE will hopefully be able to gather all they need forensically to put it all together. Sadly, it's all on them (and on the rest of us when we can help in any way with physical searching, kicking around theories, researching, praying). Our little angel is not coming home if the family can help it. I hope our prayers are answered soon.

Now, after having learned of the decomp and that there can be a chemical reaction with urine that results in chloroform, perhaps that's the reason Cindy keeps bringing up the urine, diapers in trunk, peeing in sandbox and playhouse, etc. Maybe there were traces of it found in all those spots?
