I've read everything I could find on the first days, can't find where that report was submitted into evidence. I must respectfully request you provide a source that it was TIA

The evidence came from an expert witness. It is posted in the record /summary judgement filed in court. If someone tells me how to post a picture I can post a screenshot. ( ...all four sides of the handle of the knife were coated in RZ blood, several inches up the handle)

I recall it was also confirmed in the court proceedings with the DNA expert in court yesterday. It will be in the court transcript for confirmation when it is published.

Summary judgment reference to evidence

(Greer Deel., Ex. 0, DiMeo Depo. at 169:25-170:10; see photos at Exhibit 11).

Below is an excerpt from Greer's reply to the defendant's motion for summary judgement.
The murderer raped Rebecca with a knife handle One of the most morbid and obscene pieces of evidence in this case, as identified by Forensic Specialist Lisa A. DiMco, is that a steak knife at the scene was covered with blood on all four sides of the handle, a few inches up, and the only source of blood sufficient to coat all four sides of the knife handle was the decedent’s vagina. (Greer Decl., Ex, O, DiMeo Depo, al 169:25- 170:10; see photos at Exhibit 11). Ms. Dimeo further opined that the stripe of blood on Rebecca’s left inner thigh was a transfer stain from the knife handle being rubbed against her leg (Id,, pg. 188-190:9; see phot at Ex. 43), Plaintiffs respectfully submit that this is not the type of act that a woman who was allegedly committing an “honor suicide would do.

Hi Seattle, yes it was played in full yesterday.

It was rather bizarre to be honest, although we must keep in mind a child of only 11 was making the call and although she was calm in her manner, she was seemingly very confused, perhaps ( likely) in shock.

Zena stated that it was a ‘she’ who had fallen down the stairs and ‘couldn’t breath’, the operator asked her repeatedly and she confirmed several times it was a she, who was 6, who ‘couldn’t breath’. The operator also asked if if her mom was helping and she said yes. She continued to respond to questions about ‘her mom’ helping the ‘girl’ throughout the call. Zena remained totally calm, answering with primarily single word answers. You could hear RZ, quite literally wailing and sobbing continuously throughout. It was quite distressing.

We also saw zena’s full video deposition of the events of the day Maxie’s accident. It was recorded several years after the event ( zena was perhaps 16 in the vid dep)

RZ and JS relationship...

I read also in the summary judgement that RZ and JS relationship was to all intents and purposes over at the time of her death. JS was apparently already seeing the girl he was later to marry... and RZ was apparently already planning to leave JS...

WS changed is attachment/pics feature. You now need to post pics on a third party website and give that link to attach pics.

You can open free flickr.com account. Then get the link for the pic and post on WS.

Do you have the specific quote? A transcript perhaps? TIA, I'm busy elsewhere right now.

No transcript and there's no hurry, listen when you get a minute...I actually thought I saw you referring to the podcast in earlier posts.

Thank you! It would be great if you could upload it. Just go to the button below that says "Go Advanced". From there you will find a button with a file & paper clip image. Click on that and you can upload the image from your computer to your own WS image file. Once uploaded you can drag and drop it to the blue area on the bottom of the window and press the button in the bottom right of the screen to upload. I hope I described that ok, its the way that works best for me.

Thanks for the reminder! I need to check the court files for the latest documents.

Thanks for that information. Not surprising. JS has a reputation as a serial philanderer, not very stable when it comes to interpersonal relationships. Good for RZ that she was planning to move on, such a shame she never got the chance to live the rest of her life. She had a lot of potential.

Can you post the summary judgement for us? I've never seen or read it before.

TIA

The real door was preserved as evidence. WTF??

Man, the disinformation campaign was in even more overdrive than we thought.

Does anyone recall just WHEN the story was put out that the door was returned to Jonah and painted over?

Exactly how long after the infamous "SDSO labor day weekend film festival"?

<modsnip>
Hi K_Z!

I Googled: websleuths/spreckels, door, repainted, returned

Got 235 results (0.71 seconds), so many of which I am still reading: posts from Reality Chatter, rebeccazahau.blogspot.com, The Hinky Meter…even Scared Monkeys came up. Of course, Websleuths returned the first several results, and since I know I must myself posted some of those, I started with these others. I have not traced a first reference to the door being painted over and returned to JS yet, because I keep getting sucked in other directions, each as interesting and disturbing as my original curiosity.

The truth is simple. Why is finding it so complicated? Why is recognizing it so hard?

Spin. It staggers the mind to realize that so much of the information we consume consists of what others wish us to know, or believe, and not our own knowing.

It’s a brave new world, this.

Is the DiMeo deposition online? I have looked and have not been able to find it. I get the impression from reading snippets of Dimeo's testimony that the blood was not tested at all by her - that she reviewed what was in evidence before. Did Wecht opine on the vaginal blood or vaginal trauma?

The attached pdf is an abbreviated version of Greer’s reply to the motion for summary judgement.
Some extraneous legalese has been removed for the purpose of reducing the file size to acceptable levels, but all the legal points of argument remain. The conversion process created some glitches in formatting and spelling – most of which I corrected but some likely linger.

Hey Bourne, I don't have that but I'll see what I can do.

How in the hell did SDSO brush off this piece of evidence as well? Infuriating.

You are a wealth of information, Lezah. So glad you're here!

Hi, I’m not aware of a publicly available recording - this was my recollection from the court proceedings. Sorry I can’t help.
