Great post but I just wonder if he’s struggling to eat etc how could he acquire a new razor to shave? Razors go blunt fairly quickly and I can’t see him packing a straight razor before he went on the run, so I think he probably has a bigger beard by now. Obviously JMO.
And... unless he has access to clean clothes, laundry facilites, and a shower, he's going to be smelling pretty nasty by now. MOO

Brian went to that AT&T store September 14 with an older woman and purchased the phone before they left. Isn’t Sept. 14 when Brian’s parents claim they last saw him leaving their home with his backpack? So, he walked straight to some older woman’s place to take him to get a phone? LE has surveillance. It will be so interesting to find out who she is. A trusted family friend. A trusted friend of the attorney? The mother of one of Brian’s trusted friends? Did he still have any? A co-worker at Publix? I think Brian can turn on the charm at will. Did he convince someone to help him?
It was probably his mother. Bought the phone, went home and then BL went on his so-called hike? ETA.... forgot the phone buying was on the 4th. So no hike.

Can you imagine the uproar had it been the other way around and the Laundries had a name for Gabby to "intimidate her"!?

I'll likely be berated for this comment, but bullying is wrong, no matter which "side" it's coming from, and like I said yesterday, many humans are a product of not only how they've been raised, but also of how they've been treated by others :(

Just my two pence.

MOO

I really appreciate this comment. I hadn't known about this.

If he had grievances with Brian, he should have been direct with him about the problems - one adult to another. But we are all humans, making a lot of mistakes in the way we interact with each another...he seems like the kind of person who realizes now how regrettable this was.

IIRC, this date was corrected by MSM to 9/4.

That would make more sense than asking for directions to a state 2,000 miles away. JMO

I disagree. I grew up in western NC, and I've lived within a few hours of California, NC for most of my adult life. It's in one of the most rural areas of the state. I'd never heard of it until today.

California NC is over a five hour drive from any area near the AT in NC, so asking for directions there is just as unreasonable as asking directions to the state of CA.

Coincidentally, I-40 is the easiest way to get both places.

I agree. I also look at the Moab stop and switch genders to give a new insight on their actions. I think its easy to have a gender bias no matter how hard we try to avoid it.

Couples need to get out of toxic relationships ... RUN. There is NO excuse to stay; you aren't going to change the other person. Goodness, who wants to fight and argue, love is about building lives, not tearing them down. GP/BL = Toxic Couple

They were so young. People are going to have disagreements if they partner with anyone who isn't a clone of themselves. As adults, we need to model more effective ways of working through differences in relationships.

Edited to add: They both needed more from the adults in this world.

IF the most recent, Appalachian Trail sighting is true, from whom did BL get the white Ford F-150? California bound? Hmm, I don’t know. He has no money. That’d be quite the wild goose chase if not true. Whitey Bulger was able to hide out in CA for a long time, BUT….totally different scenario there. He had a lot of connections and a lot of money.

Curious...Why do you think he has no money? He could have emptied his bank savings account or was given cash from his parents. Untraceable, bought a car from a private owner.

FBI must have good reason to be ignoring Davis' sighting tip. All I can think is that they are confident that he was in the reserve and died there. If they thought he was still alive, it would still be "all hands on deck". I sure hope they are certain about this. jmo
Unless they are not and we just don't know. Though you'd think local news media would notice some activity and be reporting on it. JMO

Okay looking at the map, now I don't think California, NC is what he meant; I am back to thinking BL is confused and babbling at this point. That town is not anywhere near the AT or Western NC. It's way east of there. No, I don't feel that is what he meant.

Florida engineer has ‘no doubt’ he encountered Brian Laundrie on Appalachian Trail

Brian Laundrie may have been spotted on Appalachian Trail
This article raises so many questions about BL’s thinking IF this was actually him.
1. Why would lost guy IF he is BL flag someone down and risk being recognized?
2. Did this lost guy IF he is BL, expect stranger be able to tell him alternative route to CA or just a back road headed west?
3. Does this mean the BL IF lost guy has no GPS/no phone?
4. Where is lost guy IF BL getting gas/food money for a cross country trip?
Jmo

And... unless he has access to clean clothes, laundry facilites, and a shower, he's going to be smelling pretty nasty by now. MOO
Possibly not. IF he planned this run and had a head start, he could have thrown together basic lightweight supplies to keep clean.

For context, when I travel solo, I do it with an 28L backpack (far smaller than rucksacks designed for camping) and I carry a portable washer for laundering and merino wool that never seems to smell. Just a thought. :)

Since you are not only a gun owner, but are also a gun owner who has practiced in the woods, would you kindly scroll down (to the middle, to the CS evidence photos) on this and let me know your opinion - I know all of us on the site have to be very clear that this is opinion only, so could you let me know your opinion on whether the center of these evidence markings on the tree are consistent with bullet holes, tree hollows, or not sure? MOO. And, thanks.

Petito’s death ruled a homicide, experts see Laundrie as abuser
Number 22 is hard to tell. that one looks like it could be natural. The others, as someone else has stated do look large, but to me, they look consistent to bullet holes with possible hollow points in use. These are probably very advanced cameras for crime scene photos, so really the sizing is hard to tell when there's not much near to give me a point of reference. The one picture all the way to the right, whatever caliber it was, did not have enough power to get through the tree. It looks like it stopped dead after the bark. In number 15, to me, that looks like a bullet hole and blood. As for the size, really he could have had hollow point bullets on him which expand when they hit the target. They are sold alongside regular bullets. MOO

I doubt it but I suppose it's possible the lost guy meant California NC, not the state of California. California NC is a tiny town in the northeast corner of NC, near the border with Virginia.

JMO

That makes light-years more sense. Imo, it wasn't BL, but either way, some guy in a truck looking for a back way to a tiny town in the same state makes a LOT more sense than a FL fugitive asking for back road directions to the West Coast.

Protesters outside Brian Laundrie's home cited for using loudspeaker

A speaker used to cajole the parents of Gabby Petito's fugitive boyfriend.

Protesters outside Brian Laundrie’s parents’ home were handed citations Saturday for being too loud.

The small group used a speaker to cajole the parents of Gabby Petito’s fugitive boyfriend.

“Come out here and answer America’s questions!” one of the half-dozen demonstrators camped out across the street from the Laundries’ North Port, Florida, home said through the speaker, according to a video posted by Fox News reporter Michael Ruiz.

Police handed out ordinances and explained that they can’t use a speaker but have a right to protest.

This is really good news! Hopefully these protesters won't be given a permit.

I agree, just saying it would make more sense than asking for directions to the state of California. But you’re right, it would make no sense.

Then again, not much in this case makes sense.

Yes, thank you, I just realized this also. It is way too far east of WNC to be anything. BL is babbling about the West and his girlfriend, he is losing it IMO.

Thank you for responding to this with your opinion based on your knowledge! I did not think you would see the question. I know nothing about guns yet my thoughts immediately went to where you just ended. MOO. And, as someone pointed out last night, can't the hole possibly be bigger if they had tried to dig a bullet out? MOO IMO

Agreed.

It's interesting that when you dig a little beneath the surface you start to discover the small things here and there that can equate to the "whys".

Not for a second am I saying it's any form of justification for what happened to poor Gabby, but it can help to shed light on the mindset of someone who would do such a thing, and WHY.

There's so much we don't know about this case, and I think it's important to remember that before we cast aspersions and judgement.

MOO
