It's fine if you don't want to read or respond to this @SuperTmo. But since it was implied I am not thinking critically or listening well I feel the need to respond.

Yes, we could all likely guess what Blue probably meant at his press conference. But he didn't say "manual" and he refused to answer a reporter's direct question about whether hands were used. Not so a few hours later on CNN. A few people here have said that's because CNN obtained the paperwork Blue had signed so he was free to talk. That makes no sense to me. If what CNN got was basically the COD & MOD with a few more descriptive words included, why couldn't those be discussed earlier? We are talking about two press appearances less than 6 hours apart. Did he know there was a FOIA request? When did he agree to appear on CNN? Was his work influenced by assumptions about DV?

Questioning how people do their jobs is hardly unusual on WS whether it's the Moab cops, the Laundries' attorney, the NPPD, the FBI (especially re: DD's AT siting).... I'm not sure why Blue would be off-limits.

JMO
I have listened to the Anderson audio again.

Brent Blue said that manual strangulation/throttling is the result of human force used. This is where he said it was not caused by animals and comment about opposable thumbs comes from. He said that they could not determine if something else was used (see link at about 1.45).

He compared this to mechanical strangulation where an outside force is used - he gave an example of someone on a snow mobile who runs into a wire. The strangulation in that example is mechanical strangualtion.

Is the FBI even searching for BL anymore? I feel like they've given up.

MOO.
If the FBI isn't looking for BL, US Marshall are. Many times its US Marshalls that hunt down guys like BL and/or make the arrest.

We had a situation in my community. Guy was hiding out, living with friends, wanted on federal charges. Our local LE assisted. US Marshalls made the arrest. He was held at the local jail awaiting an extradition hearing.
Moo...

Science may be exact... but, scientific experiments/activities are carried out by human beings. Human beings are not infallible.
This is true as a general statement, but that doesn't mean this coroner is wrong. Numerous people were involved with this autopsy, including a forensic pathologist & a forensic anthropologist. Which means there were multiple checks in this system. The evidence of manual strangulation is pretty specific. That's why they were able to determine the cause so quickly. JMO.

A lot of people let others use their card. I’ve done it at times. Just did this week. But when card owner dies, it becomes a whole other story. I’ve seen this happen several times.
Maybe the poster will come on again. The point they were making, IIRC, is that although a lot of ppl do it, letting someone else use your card is illegal, in protection of the bank's interest. Unless they are legally entered on your card in the contract.

Science may be exact... but, scientific experiments/activities are carried out by human beings. Human beings are not infallible.

That's true but then we can start questioning the integrity of every autopsy report in this world.
We know that humans aren't infallible, that's why every experiment is repeated multiple times in real world.
They would have pics of her body to support their findings.

Again, I reiterate, when I see that autopsy show, I remember the doc always asks," So what do we have here...". And we get a reply, " female, 30 years old, heart attack "
That doesn't mean they assume, it is heart attack and they don't look elsewhere. Their profession is to find if there is anything else. They check the exterior and interior of the body, from the size of the brain, to the size of the heart, to the lungs, to the eyes, to every bone.
That's why I felt that he might have said DV because that's how the preliminary info to him was. DV doesn't immediately mean he is focused on getting samples to nail BL.

I respect your views as well. I am on the fence about the suicide issue. If he was going to do it, he already did it (IMO). They really searched that preserve, but still, they could have missed him. It's awful to think that though.

It appeared that LE took a gun case out of the back of the Mustang and it was empty. Maybe the gun was elsewhere (surely BL's parents wouldn't have left a gun available to him? Or were they really so clueless about what was going on that they didn't even think to put it up?)

If he did shoot himself inside an alligator pond (!), what an amazingly selfish thing to do.

I am super curious about what the FBI will do next...

I tried and tried to find the make and model but no luck - so if anyone recognizes the tent, please help us out. It's just pure curiosity.

If my attorney did not let me read a prepared statement to the press, with him/her at my side, I'd find a new attorney. I also would not share an attorney with a family member who was a POI in a crime.

Absolutely no way that I would remain absolutely silent in this situation. I would want the family affected by my offspring's doings to see my tears and hear the anguish in my voice.

In that case, there would be plenty of cadaverine and other byproducts of decomp in the van. The van would be warmer than the ambient temp, so in 12 hours, the decomp would be recognizable by dogs (for years to come).

It's still illegal in all 50 states to assault someone. Strangulation is assault/battery even if the person isn't killed.

I appreciate your opinion.

I too would never share an attorney. I made that mistake long ago with a family member. I don't believe the Laundrie parents are being well served sharing one with BL. I would hire the best attorney possible to protect myself and my rights and take their advisement. I am a deeply empathetic person, so it would be nearly impossible for me not to express my empathy to Gabby's family. There is a so much I believe I'd do differently, but I always remind myself that this isn't about me.

MOO.

He mowed it 9/13/21, and now he mows it 10/13/21, despite it being possibly the day when emotions are running the hottest since the day Gabby was found?
Why even go out there?
Is this some weird smoke signal or am I just losing reasonable perspective?
bbm
Agreed.
Re. the green bolded : You and me both, then. ;)

This family has acted oddly from the start of Gabby's going missing.

I forgot who said this... but maybe the HOA did call or email to mow it ?
They have regulations that don't relax just because the Laundrie's son is on the lam.

As far as the lavender bolded : My guess is that they're not bothered at all by the presence of concerned citizens nor are they bothered by the media.

If they do not like the attention, they could consider moving ?
That would be an easy solution.
Imo.

Based on the timeline, I believe cellphone data will show where Gabby’s phone was in relation to Brian’s phone at the time the ‘Yosemite’ text was sent, and it could prove that the phones were traveling together after her death.

August 24: Gabby FaceTimes with her mother and tells her she is leaving Utah and heading to the Teton range in Wyoming. Gabby is seen with Brian checking out of a hotel in Salt Lake City, Utah. Gabby Petito's cause of death was strangulation, coroner says - Local News 8

August 24: Roberta Laundrie initially made reservations for 2 people at Soto Park Campground for September 1-3. Laundrie family changed Fort De Soto campground reservations before Brian returned home, docs show

August 25: Gabby posted a series of photos on Instagram in front of a butterfly mural in Ogden, Utah. It would be her final post on Instagram.

August 25: There are multiple texts between Gabby and her mother. The young woman's family believes she is in the Tetons on this date.

August 26: Gabby Petito liked a friend’s picture on Instagram. Gabby’s Instagram likes

August 27: Gabby liked another picture on Instagram at 10:35AM EST. There were more texts between Gabby and her mother, during which her family believes she remains in the Tetons. According to the missing persons report, her mom received the last photo on this date. Petito texts a friend via Snapchat she was heading for Yellowstone. This is also the day the “Stan” text message was sent: “Can you help Stan, I just keep getting his voicemails and missed calls.” Missing persons report

August 29: Gabby failed to call her friend to finalize plans and meet sometime in September.

August 29, 11 PM: A witness saw Brian alone in the van pulled in at the gas station in Jackson. He was in a bad mood, cursing at himself while throwing garbage away and then driving away. imgur.com

August 30: Gabby’s mom says at 7AM (not sure if New York time or Wyoming Time) received the last text message from her phone, which read: “No service in Yosemite.” Brian Laundrie manhunt: Gabby Petito reported missing one month ago

August 30: 7 songs were added to one playlist on the Nomadic Statik Spotify. Spotify

August 31: 4 songs were added to the Spotify Playlist.

August 31: At the 59:50 mark - someone’s sister who works at the gas station in Benton Illinois says that the FBI were at her workplace asking for video evidence on the case. He says that’s the last place where Gabby’s credit card was used. Apparently it was used at 2 different branches of the same gas station in the same town
Reports: Laundrie credit card purchases possibly linked to Benton, IL gas station - NewsBreak

August 31: Roberta cancelled their camping reservations for 2 people.

August 31 or September 1?: According to the search warrant, which is dated September 15, Gabby’s phone was turned off for approximately 15 days, starting August 31st or September 1st.

August 31, 9:19PM EST: Brian’s Instagram account liked a PETA post on Instagram that was posted on August 31.

September 1: Brian arrived to North Port in Gabby’s van at 10:26AM

September 3: Roberta made a new reservation for 3 people to camp on the weekend of September 6-8.

September 4: New phone for Brian was purchased at an AT&T store.

September 13: Brian left his newly purchased phone and wallet at home to go for a “hike at the Carlton Reserve.”

Authorities do not have the phone Brian Laundrie had with him on the couple's trip, nor do they have Gabby Petito's phone.

Neither phone was in Gabby’s van, which Brian Laundrie drove back to Florida. Gabby Petito's fiancé Brian Laundrie was under surveillance before he disappeared, police say - CNN

I mention this because there was a case of a guy in Colorado that killed his ex-fiancé, and one of the things that got him was his and her cellphones pinging off the same tower when they were supposedly in separate locations.

That all sounds good, until you realize that a lot of science is based on interpretation, and then it's no longer exact.

Yes, it depends on what you are talking about.

Here I feel it is Exact because we are looking at broken bones, results of lab tests, DNA test, weight of the heart, weight of the brain, signs of internal bleeding which mean there is a pool of blood.
How are these going to change because of interpretation differences?

I let my girls use my card all the time. I do remember my husband had power of att for my fil. His bank acct was locked, idk exactly how many days after he died but it was pretty darn quick. Because my husband wasn’t designated as beneficiary on the bank acct, the acct would have to go to probate. We just dropped it. Too much trouble. State got a little bit richer. I tell everyone I know to remember to add a beneficiary to bank accounts. Keeping it real y’all ~ we could drop dead tomorrow. Just my little PSA for the day.

Let's not forget that Dr. Blue had a forensic pathologist and anthropologist assisting in the autopsy (as well as other specialists). This is not just the opinion of one person, but the opinion of a team of experts in the field.

That seems to be an older neighborhood, do they have HOAs there? The HOAs I know of (just a couple, admittedly) would never allow that see through addition with the enclosed pool.
