BREAKING NEWS....

Ch 7 news (Aus) just reported from NC that Emily has been told the remains are human and they are believed to be Zahras.

ETA: I believe it IS the same reporter who interviewed her from Wagga Wagga.

MAJOR APOLOGIES to everyone for my error in reporting the above

CORRECTION:
ED was told about the 'find' when she was at Hickory PD this afternoon . She is shattered but was expecting it. Hickory PD have not officially said they are human remains as they are waiting for scientific confirmation.

Here's the vid, under the title: Zahra Baker remains 'found' (1:18)

This is from Nancy Grace's show this evening. According to John Miller, editor of the Hickory Daily Record, local media does not know where ED is (in NC). Nancy mentioned her being here, and speculated Australian media had paid for her trip to the U.S. No link, however, a transcript of the show should be available online later. :)

I retroactively ETA'd your earlier post with this one.

Folks, you need to be able to discuss things without snapping at each other.

And if you feel you are being insulted, hit the alert - if you respond to disrespect in kind, that is also against the TOS, and everyone involved in the argument might get a cooling-down break.

Be civil.

If you had no money how would u fly to another country? Just sayin....MOO

I really don't see anything wrong with Australian media coming over with her - they were going to come whether she liked it or not. I'm not sure how heavy the coverage has been in Australia, but once Zahra's remains are found, the media will be all over it. We've already seen the speculation abound with what little info we have right now.

Whether Emily wanted them to come or not, they would have been here, if only just to cover her arrival in America. We don't even know for sure if she solicited them, or if this simply was a convergence of interests and they offered. I'm not going to judge her, since she's been very quiet since her arrival. If this were truly about parading herself in front of the media, we'd have seen a lot more of her before now.

---------------------------
I must say I have followed this case more on tv. than the forum as I have been sick.I am so sorry for this woman.Forgive anything she has said or done off key.I am sure she is half out of her mind. Those are no doubt her childs bones and she is full of grief beyond belief.I pray they find as much as they can of Zahra cremate her and send her home with her mum. They knnow by now if the first bone belonged to her.I pray whichever one/or both pay for this with their lives.Emily has my deepest sympathy.I like many here have an idea of the pain she is going through.Mine died in my arms, she didnt even know hers had died.If I could help her I would.God Bless Little Angel Girl and mum.:praying:

If it were me and I coouldnt afford the trip I'd take help from anyone to be with my child.

Im starting this thread as we have learned that Zahras Mum may be on her way to the USA,
Im asking if any one knows of a reputable organization that will work with ED when she gets here where we can get in touch to help her with anything she might need help with, wether it be support, or financiall??.

I feel a great need to help her in any way I can.

I am praying that she will be able to take her daughter back with her when the time comes. I cannot imagine that Zahras remains would go to anyone but her, Zahras remains going back to KB/AB would add insult to injury, putting it mildly.

-------------------
One who always helps is the Salvation Army. Many churches will aid people.I am Lutheran and mine is always aiding people. They would no doubt find a place/pay for a room for her.I wish I lived close I'd take her in.

The media with her I am assuming it is due to protecting her from being made into a villian. She made need protection from AB in some way.. I doubt it .. he would have to be more or a moron that is all ready evident.

Bio mom must of been horrified to be in that home.. what a tough day and many days to come.. for the rest of her life.. she is in my prayers.

Not true, I believe they have joint custody.

---------------
I will go out on a limb and say I hope/think Zahras mum will take her home.
As for AB.,he aint goin' nowhere for a long time! I hope the two of them AB. and EL B. rot in h*ll.I believe they are in this together.Gramma should be able to visit Zahras grave.

If I were a shop owner, or resturant owner in the NC area where ED is visiting, I would offer her a free meal, or fresh flowers, or just something that I had my power to ease her burden - even if only for a moment in time. I would want her to know that she is not to blame in this whole horrid mess and I would encourage others to offer random acts of kindness toward this poor grieving Mother - nothing extravagant - even a warm smile will help. Sadly, ED is the only family member of Zahra's that I have seen grieving for this beautiful angel.

BBM

wenwe4, that made me cry because it's so spot on.

I wonder if Zahra's school would gift Emily copys of yearbooks Zahra was in.

I hope Zahra's little dance friend, Jonathan, gets to meet ED and tell her about their friendship. I hope the family in AU give any pictures of Zahra to her so she can put them in her album so she can see Zahra grow up through the pictures. jmo

Zahra's biological mom in Hickory

HICKORY, N.C. -- When Eddie Mitchell saw a woman with a camera crew kneeling outside the makeshift memorial at the Baker's home on 21st Street Ave. NW across the street from his, he didn't know what to expect.

When he walked over to speak with her, he says it was unnerving to see her face. "When she got up and turned, it was like looking at Zahra," he said.

"She was so emotional about the whole thing and she just said to tell the people that she's very, very grateful," Mitchell said.

I agree Kimster, thank you.

I am truly appalled that he left his daughter's stuff behind for the landlord to toss in the trash, again. On the other hand I couldn't be happier because now bio mom has something to take home. I hope it was her clothing. I read in the news report about Zahra's toys leaving in a car, that doesn't surprise me as the other kids in the family can use them. The rest just do not seem to be important to them. That's OK, someone who honestly appreciates them will have them.

And from dar107's link (thank you dar!)

That was really sweet of her. I'm glad she got to see in some way that people here in the U.S. do care about her daughter. I hope it brings her some kind of comfort.

No words.

So sad.

Notes: They took a DNA sample from mom. Said DNA results should be back Tuesday.
They only told her "evidence" but she said she could tell from their tone and their manner what they found.

I'm right there with you!!! That pic is the rawest of pain ...oh my, I'm choking at this pic, what I've seen is ..is enough. Sorry, No words. :(
