Not so much any more; they seem to have been escalating the situation over the past 20 minutes.

It is the mob escalating things, not the police.

A family has lost a family member. Now another family, or several have lost their livelihood.

Yes the short amt I saw was the crowd verbally attacking cops. This could be a horrific early morning.

Fire looks to be put out.

I think we'll have to agree to disagree on this; I think that if a reporter, while backing up with her hands up and maintaining distance, gets maced 4 separate times, the use of force is a little bit indiscriminate. A lot of tazing, and threatened tazing too. Oh, and swearing at demonstrators....that's just unprofessional.

I suppose you think the cops should just do nothing, right? People complain when LE doesn't or cannot use tazing and macing, and now that they had to, you're saying they're wrong. You're right, we'll have to disagree. It's obvious that for some LE is damned if they do and damned if they don't.

Hope someone got the mother of the victim in a safe place...... hope she is getting support. Gawd why this again.

No, I didn't say that, or imply it.

I don't think either of us is in the position to say that they 'had to' taze anyone. Perhaps they did, but the feed didn't show us. And I would say that there are good times to do it. As for the 'threatening to taze', when they keep charging their tazers (like cocking a weapon), I'm not sure that does much more than escalate a situation when all anyone is doing is yelling from a distance.

It's obvious that for some LE is damned if they do and damned if they don't.

Perhaps for some, but not for me. Merry Christmas!

eta: What do you make of a retreating reporter, maintaining distance, holding her hands up, and getting maced 4 times?
