18 y/o Black male shot dead by Police in St Louis suburb of Berkeley MO

he said officer said f??? you/off It was cryatal clear on my pc. :) I never heard LE cursing at ALL. :)

Oh, there was definitely some LE swearing. Frankly, it doesn't matter if protesters are swearing; LE are supposed to be professionals (after all, they're being paid, likely overtime as well) so they have to be held to a higher standard. As well, when LE swears, they escalate the situation, and make their own job harder, because then the protesters are seeing unprofessional behavior and mistreatment, and the protesters succeed in getting a rise out of LE.

Do you have a link MJ? Because I honestly missed it, and watched the entire thing. I saw where that black guy said* The officer just told me to go ef myself. But I didn't see that.

Watching CNN, and although the commentator and Senator Nadal begrudgingly admitt that this kid had an illegal gun pointed at a police officer, why is the story prefaced by, "there is another black youth killed by a white cop?"

ETA: during his press conference, the Mayor begins in the same exact way. Why don't they preface by saying, "in an attack on a police officer?"

MOOO

I will re-watch when the video is of good quality. This last one is terrible, and I'm not sure who made it. That*reporter* was all over the place.

I am not fine with what they are saying at ALL. Screaming cuss words in the face of officers including calling them "b****s and n****rs should lead to IMMEDIATE ARREST! That is utterly obnoxious and I am stunned folks would defend that.

Please do. I may have missed it, but don't think so. I don't want to post inappropriately! :)

And I'm not awake enough, to watch it.

the 160 minute video's been trying to load on my 'puter for the past 10 minutes with nosuccess - will try again later.

I didn't hear the officer say anything! He was an older officer and gestured that he said nothing, then the protesters started saying he could get fired etc... It was sickening and it makes me feel so bad for those LEO.

Here is just that portion, runs about 1 minute: http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/56842484/highlight/587768

And this is why I stay away from these stories. I'll hang out in the missing, UID, and cold cases lol.

The part where the guy "claims" the officer swore at him is on her ustream, it is a "highlight" that you can play on its own (run time 2 minutes or so). I didn't hear the officer say anything! So I'm not crazy?

Good morning, first I will make a statement and then we will take any questions that you would addresss to the incident.

Let me give condolence to Martin family. We cannot know how that mother and grandmother is feeling today losing an 18 yr old who was just beginning his life.

We need to put our arms around the LEO to make sure he has what he needs to get through this. Don't know if you have ever had to take someones life before.

We will hold his name and the LEO name until the investigation is completed. It will be a thorough investigation in reference to this.

reviewed video of incident.

What I saw is not what people portrayed. This was no officer going out half cocked. You cannot compare this with ferguson or the gardner case in NY. I can assure that what is on the video.

Our overall goal is to project the truth to our residents. First thing that occurred last night was "white guy killing a black man." That was not the case. We had a policeman protecting the city.

Deceased pointed a gun, which was recovered at the scene, at the officer.

City and county will both be investigating.

[ETA the above is paraphrasing of what I heard as the presser was live. It is not direct quotes and should not be taken as such]

Thanks tlcya!

I sure saw it now.

I have a large screen and when I maximize the video, it's pretty clear. I can see the outline of the gun. I feel terrible for the family, but I can't see LE being blamed in any way for this. I also feel terrible for the LE officer staring down the barrel of a gun.

Can anyone provide a link to any video of an officer telling someone "my name is officer go-f****-yourself"

If video is available, I'll believe it happened.

If this is being asserted based on the claim of some person at the scene, let's be clear what we're basing these assertions on.

I sure saw it now.

Yep, no doubt about it.

Another bad guy forced a police officer to shoot him. Too bad. I'm sorry for the dead guy's family, but not as sorry as I am for the officer who was forced to take a person's life.

If it did happen, then don't blame the cop for answering that way. The protesters are so rude when they get in their faces and yell at them. They have been screaming 'EFF the Police ' for months now. And they always scream 'whats your name officer' as a way to report them for whatever claim they make at the time. So one officer had enough and mouthed off? I am not surprised at all. And the protesters were so angry and outraged? After everything they have screamed, cursed, ranted at these cops for months. Every day and night for MONTHS! And one cop replies in kind and the crowd is outraged?

They are allowed to berate and curse and threaten, night after night. No one says a thing about it other than its their civil right. The cop answers in the same manner and it is suddenly a federal case?

I was watching the live feed and I never heard or saw the cop say anything. I just heard the one guy start yelling at the cop and accusing him of saying that.

Has the woman who was filming (Stacked I think was her name??) released the video of last night? I remember her saying it would be released. It was of good quality so we should be able to hear what was said if it was on film. I watched live last night also. I heard mention of it but didn't actually hear the LE officer make the comment.

OMGaw.... did I see that correctly?
