I am a Southerner and from the country. I have in no way developed my opinion on something as immature and ignorant as his accent or lack of education. GMAB. My opinion of Ron developed from gathering and interpreting information from

• Ron's arrest record, his bed jumping with underage girls
• impregnating underage girls
• lack of ambition to get or maintain a job for any substantial length of time
• the reports of abuse against women
• reports of abuse against the children
• reports of him dealing drugs
• his reckless driving with the children in the car with him
• assault and burglary against his new bride’s family
• marrying an underage girl only days after his daughter is missing (and most likely dead)
• getting down on his knee and clowning for the camera to propose
• getting a tattoo (looks a lot like a memorial to a dead Haleigh)
• headless, dead rat in his brother in law’s mailbox.
• overall, exceeding the standards of punk behavior
• Reports of fighting and beating Misty.
• Reports of demanding favors in stores and restaurants because of “who he is”.
• Totally supporting a young girl who has lied, failed LE polys, failed professional, private conducted poly, failed voice analysis and hypnosis showed deception.
• If Ron were not involved with Haleigh’s disappearance, IMO, he would have never married and supported someone lying about the events of Haleigh’s disappearance.
I could go on, but you should be able to catch my drift here on how I came to the conclusion that I don’t care for this arrogant, self-centered man. Do I want him to be held accountable for Haleigh’s disappearance? Not unless he is guilty. Something I do want, is for him not to hinder the investigation. Mostly, I want Haleigh to be found and I don’t think he wants Haleigh to be found and I find that very sad.

My post was a response to comments like these:

"That a father who has a missing daughter that by all logic is no longer alive is uncomfortable on national TV being grilled by a screechy narcissist for the benefit of the mewing masses?

I take no pleasure in someone else’s pain no matter how different they are from me."

"Forgive me if I am mistaken but it appears that there is gloating that a county boy was awkward on TV."

"It seems so many on here are quick to jump on Ron, as he lives a different lifestyle."

I said blaming our thrill over things like his being grilled for lying on bias of mewling masses against his class, or merely being "different" is like race-baiting, IMO.

As to your last, as a Texan and I am aware of the biases. (Though we must confess the prejudice goes both ways. ;) )

But neither that prejudice nor the fact that a lot of people who haven't killed their child do other bad things is a reason to demand
a) that we not scorn bad behaviors when we see them, or
b) that they don't deserve scrutiny as possible factors in a tragedy.

I don’t really know what race baiting means but if defending whom I consider a victim is that well then I guess it is!

I think it is more a disadvantaged culture and lifestyle. References to race are too volatile of a comparison imo Class dissimilarity is my point.

I think that a lot of the criticism of RC is over the top. For example posts that something is weird because he said that Haleigh was mannerly. That is a favored compliment to a southern child. Also that RC is on his best behavior when on NG calling her Miss Nancy [or more derisively stated by posters –Miz Nancy] and now wearing a suit. Even the wildest ole boys clean up good and show their manners when appropriate as in a TV appearance.

I understand frustration in the case has led to the end of posters resorting to condoning public scorn and humiliation in order to get to the truth. That is just not my way.

I will respectfully disagree that basing opinion on accents and lack of education is ignorant or immature but instead a natural human trait backed up by sociological studies.

http://www.accessmylibrary.com/article-1G1-65357664/evaluations-employment-suitability-does.html

A feature of human judgment making that I was asking those poking fun or making sweeping statements [referring to public forum posts] regarding thus to consider in order to sleuth possibilities beyond RC himself.

And before I am again incorrectly accused of thinking RC the father of the year because I currently view him as a victim I maintain that his clumsy attempts at setting up a household with Misty as night time caretaker in an area infested with SO led to an abduction by a SO either known or unknown to those involved.

Several of your points are subjective and imo don’t have any bearing on sleuthing the case for example his getting a tattoo. If you live in the South you are familiar with the imo untoward propensity to honor various persons living or dead, causes and objectives in ink conspicuously.

Others are some malicious statements to make on a public forum. Do you perhaps have links to these points being facts just as a back up to the accusations?

Most are unsubstantiated, subjective and don’t further the cause of sleuthing.

My answers in red...
I don’t really know what race baiting means but if defending whom I consider a victim is that well then I guess it is! That's not what it means. It refers to the all-too-common tactic of implying that a person's critics are motivated by bigotry instead of the person's behavior.

I think it is more a disadvantaged culture and lifestyle. References to race are too volatile of a comparison imo Class dissimilarity is my point. The connection is that "disadvantaged culture and lifestyle" are not what provoke people's scorn for Ron any more than "race" is what provokes people's scorn for OJ.

People are not criticizing him for wearing a suit, saying Mizz Nancy, or saying his child was well mannered in a vacuum. They are critical of those things because the context demonstrates other things - like hypocrisy, manipulation, and pretentiousness.

I understand frustration in the case has led to the end of posters resorting to condoning public scorn and humiliation in order to get to the truth. That is just not my way.

1. I'd resort to a lot more than public scorn to get to the truth, even if - especially if - I were the parent.

2. I wish we had nothing to scorn; I think if there weren't so much there, we wouldn't have a missing Haleigh.
