I've been pondering this, too. At first, I figured maybe they had something else going on and could not attend for whatever reason.

However, after the motion the defense made asking that the Court grant KC's right to waive attending hearings, I started giving it more thought. I wonder if Casey didn't request that they not come to any more hearings. :waitasec:

If you think about it, the last hearing was the first one since the letters were exposed accusing GA & LA of sexual abuse. I don't think Casey is doing very well. Seriously. I think she is at her wits end with all of her lies being exposed for the world to witness first hand. I get the feeling that she doesn't want to come to the hearings OR see her family. It makes it all too real.

Obviously, all just speculation on my part. :)

kinda makes one wonder if that is what the little conference was about with the undisclosed witness....remember part of the magistrate was going over the "personal" things in her past....(hear that bus comming or is it a huge train at this point?)
I also don't think she wants to hear about the death penalty that will be covered...they won't be skipping over anything--the last time JA went over it she lost it....so,,,,

I could only watch for a bit earlier. Can an awesome sleuther give me the Reader's Digest version? TIA!! :blowkiss:

so much was covered...I couldn't condense it, but someone smarter than me probably could.

now he's mad that we want to know how many beef jerkies she eats

I think the judge should of said that since you brought up about her canteen and how many beef jerkies she is getting where is she getting the money for these items.. I think the state should be able to sieze the money being put her canteen and help pay the state back for her defense. Casey does not need all these luxury items she is in prison..Other prison'd have to do without.

Just saying

I was wondering about the sexual abuse angle, but then again, maybe they had to go to a hearing about their mortgage since Brad wasn't there either.

The hearing was about defense's efforts to get the public to pay for KC's expenses. Essentially about paying KC's bills. Where else would the A's be but hiding under a rock, I would imagine? They want no part of helping her pay for this trial. jmo

Did JP rule on the motion concerning sealing visitor logs and commissary account activity?

Other prisoners can work outside their cells, laundry, cleaning cells, etc. KC can't. jmo

along with that $5.00 and hour jb stated he was getting..(granted I know it was a "joke"---but it was open court....and he is "an officer of the court" held to such high standards...ask him....:twocents:

As always, good point, LambChop!

I considered the foreclosure angle, too! :D

Although, BC is not representing them in re. the foreclosure. They have a separate attorney for that. Don't recall who it is though.

Yes, thanks realize that. But thought if Brad knew they were not going to be there for some reason - he might have come on their behalf to listen first hand.

Maybe George and Cindy just didn't think the money angle was important to be there for?

this was just another example of JB's pp courtroom conduct. It took him about an hour to start unraveling. KC's choice. She is the poster child of making bad decisions.

Agree....we can only speculate. It was strange not seeing them there if for no other reason just to catch a glimpse of their princess.

I would love to know who the expert witness is that they had to side-bar to discuss...could this be the psychiatrist for her insanity defense???

But to admit to an insanity defense would be to admit to murder. IMO.

I suppose she will be the one to speak on the Motion they filed, again, to remove the DP...
We shall see just how long Judge Perry allows her speak before he puts a stop to it...I'm ready to Rule. NEXT.

The death penalty hearing is the one I am soooo looking forward to. A. Lyons can be persuasive but also frustrating and annoying. But she is smart. I'm looking to her trying to duel with JBP. I'm wondering just how far he will let her go before he stops her and repeats the same question, followed by "I'm ready to rule".

But they can't argue insanity because she has been declared sane to stand trial. I can't even see them arguing a "fugue state" although I suppose they could try.

I'm wondering if it is a special sex abuse expert or something like that. It might explain not wanting to bring it up in court.

Wow. I can't tell you how enjoyable it was to read about Baez getting smacked down by JP over and over again. I think he might actually find a corner to curl up in and cry this time. I just don't understand how he thinks he's going to win over anyone on the jury talking so unclearly and bad, tasteless joke after bad, tasteless joke. CM better get him lessons on speaking in court STAT.

Totally shocked the A's weren't there. Amends, huh? Yeah, riiiiiiiiiiiiiight. So no blowing kisses and saying I love you to Casey anymore? Sounds like amends were made to me! NOT. And I so totally thought of Cindy when they talked about a decomp expert, ROFL. She'd probably be too pricey, though. You know how much the A's love money...

Wow, just wow, I bow down to JP. He is my new HERO! And he's also the worst nightmare of this defense, which just makes me smile. Ahhh, justice, I never knew you could be so much fun! JP has breathed a whole new life into the case by taking all of the hot air out of the defense. I'm loving it!!!!

And I was shocked the defense had that many experts. Holy cow, they might ACTUALLY be putting a defense together. Who'd have thought? 19 experts! And of course they had to find them out of state. I don't think anyone in the State of Florida wants to be associated with Baez or this case. I can totally see him having a hard time finding anyone.

The one thing I don't get at all is that fossil expert. Wait a minute, we're not talking about dinosaur bones, and wasn't the defense saying she was put there much later? I don't see how fossilization plays a role in this case at all. It seems like the defense is now contradicting themselves, unless I'm misunderstanding the fossil expert (I forget the scientific name). Can anyone elaborate on what such an expert could testify to in this case?

Overall, a great but lengthy hearing. I may have to actually find a live feed and watch it! JP is Da MAN! And I'm thinking all the fun has been completely sucked out of this case for the entire defense. But hey, at least it's getting fun for us now. I like that much better :)

Oh, and btw, NEXT! and I'm ready to rule are my two new favorite words/phrases. lol

Did JP rule on the motion concerning sealing visitor logs and commissary account activity?

The hearing dealt with her indigency status and costs related to her defense. All other pending non dp motions will be addessed in the next hearing, Monday morning.

They did, however, deal with the motion to seal all the JAC documents and although this was denied the judge did agree to rule on an issue by issue basis in the future if a motion were filed.

So Mz Anthony will attend the motions hearing but not the status hearings...Tough luck love you gotta be there when you hear Jeff Aston argue the SA's motion.

Got nothing at all to do with what you are wearing or your hairstyle! Yep lets blame it on the media and the blog leeches as the reason why Casey does not want to be in court what a load of BS!!

She does not want to hear the truth, plain and simple.

I see a rather large train headed straight for the Anthony's and it's going to plow them directly under the large yellow bus on the other side. It's why they wanted certain things sealed, etc. I have a pretty good idea of where they're going now. Somehow it's going to the family....IMO

Actually, all up there were about 23 expert witness's discussed by Baez.

I commented on KC when the live feed started - it looked like she was crying to me. She was wiping her eyes and it looked like her mascara was running. I keep wondering why or was I seeing things? IF she was crying - could it be because she saw that C & G were not in the courtroom? But if that was it - why would she be crying about that?

One other thing that jumped out at me was the comment by CecyBeans upthread. She said that IF JB has the dog expert trash the abilities of cadaver dogs wouldn't that work against them when they state that Caylee could not have been there in August, September because dogs didn't hit? They can't have it both ways - I love it!!! I can't wait until someone points that out to them - like the State during the trial or pre trial hearing that JB expects to have about the cadaver dog evidence!!!
