I'd like to see Casey waive a jury trial.

  • #762
Poor KC, subjected to the media and put in a "fishbowl"

  • #763
I would like to State...I don't CARE WHAT she looks like.
IMO She SHOULD be present for ALL her Court hearing just like Judge Strickland has already RULED on months ago.

  • #764
Mason pulling the good ole boy routine. Quit already.

Casey doesn't want to subject herself to scrutiny? Too bad. Judge Perry is right, this is a capital case, not a walk in the park. Or a trip round the pole at a bar.

  • #765
You would think she would want to know everything that goes on in real time. I just can not imagine she still believes she will get off and all of this is for not. Give her go- go boots and blue dress and she would show up..She just makes me so angry.

JP thinks Casey NEEDS to be there for all hearings!
Except for status hearings

  • #767
CM says she has a right to waive.

JP says the problem is there are things that may come up that may require her presence. He may need to ask her questions. He says in capital cases defendant needs to be present. If she is found guilty, it could lead to problems post conviction.

REQUEST DENIED.
She will not be required to attend status hearings.

  • #768
Wouldn't you think she would look forward to getting out of jail for a little bit? Better enjoy it while she can!

  • #769
JP: The problem is with DEATH PENALTY cases the defendant needs to be present...

She looks like she's gonna cry. Oh boo, f'in' hoo. Does she have something better to do?

She doesn't have to attend the status hearings.

  • #770
Ooops! Sorry KC! JP is gonna FORCE you to face the TRUTH.

  • #771
I have a new love for the word DENIED!:woohoo:

  • #772
Poor KC, subjected to the media and put in a "fishbowl"

The fishbowl is preferable to the swamp where she left her child. I say make her show up.

  • #773
Request denied

  • #774
LDB asking about the depo schedule. Says defense hasn't listed their experts. ASking them to do it immediately so they can meet the depo deadline.

  • #775
whoa hooh....Casey wants out of the hearings!! Too bad JP says you have to be there!!!

  • #776
Oh no Judge Perry will have none of the waiver, :nono:. As usual Baez hemming and hawing over discovery and depos, such nonsense. Judge Perry bringing down the law to Jose Baez today. Tired of the lagging..:gavel:

FIrst, Someone please ask how much money has been paid to these experts by JB! NOT how much time they have spent. Then they should take the money's paid and multiply by the % work claimed to be completed.

Second, unfortunately, what makes this case unique and extra expensive to defend, is NOT that a mother killed her daughter (in cold blood, without any remorse) but the fact that the mother and her granparents denied, lied, ugly coped, ugly groped and ugly spoke their way through this whole ordeal. If the case is so special, it is because the defendent, her family and her boys, made it that way.

BBM I agree, but lets not forget that we, also, have made it that way. From certain crimetainment TV personalities giving this case so much attention, to us, ourselves, making this case a national concern. Us, and other newsjunkies like us, keep this case at the forefront, and therefore, add to the expense of trial.

Looks like travel expenses will be denied.
