IMO why the defense shows more respect to Judge Perry is because he makes it a point to be by the book, strict and prompt. His court goes by the rules. JP does not put up with any bullchite.

"she didn't cry when Caylee went missing" ---- TL says she was awake crying at night

One time he found her watching the GGPA video and making the motions of crying but no sound. The other times he found her waking in a cold sweat.

May I ask why JP is shown such respect by the defense but they couldn't seem to show it to Judge Strickland?
What is the difference between the 2?

I thought Jeff Ashton was wonderful; very passionate and well spoken.
I didn't like the judge giving him a little dressing down and I don't feel that the judge is very well spoken at all considering his position of power.
He should say his words more clearly.
Maybe i'm just pizzed at him for scolding Ashton. How dare he!

I got the impression that the judge liked Ms. Lyon.

I got the opposite impression. Look at his face closely when A Lyons is talking about the State of Florida putting the 'cart before the horse' - he purses his lips and I swear he is biting his tongue at that moment- he stops the jiggling in his chair, then he sort of smirks, in a little irritated fashion.

JP---he says he has one bad habit---please read your Trial Order with deadlines, if you don't have a good reason for not meeting those deadlines you may be left out in the cold.

I believe that comment was meant for JB when JB said there would be more motions coming. IMHO I think JP was saying file all the motions you want you better have time left to meet the deadlines or else.

I saw no wet tears, no red face. It didn't appear that she was crying IMO.

Hi Gypsy Road...my tv is large and I sit real close! I could see tears and her nose did turn red....not trying to argue....wish I could send you the image I saw, it could just be your signal is not as clear as mine...but she wipes them away and looks at them still....

I think her conscious is absent. She only cries because she feels sorry for herself.

IMO it was the comment about Caylee being "happy and healthy" that triggered the crying. She works at digging around her eyes when it starts which contributes to MORE tears. She milks it for whatever she can get out of it. I also think Baez is visibly unable to focus on anything else but KC when she is crying.

I got the impression that whatever they discussed at the sidebar was not going to be allowed to factor into this motion, considering what AL said when they got back to their seats. Did anyone else get that impression. It seemed like the judge decided not to allow it - because AL said something to the effect of 'we will go with what we said previously'.

It has to do with money, and you can see the defense is extremely nervous whenever money is mention - like JB popping up out of his seat when Ashton started to talk about the in camera session way back when. What money issue could still be outstanding - unless it is something to do with that ABC guy who is always around?

It kind of irritates me that Lyon got away with slipping in their witness without notifying the court. JP was very specific about putting in the motions the need for witnesses and their names. If the SAO had tried that the defense would have had a conniption.

Well these are my picks....and the defense couldn't figure this out?!

With their combined education and experience...It seems not..It was not so difficult for us "bloggers" to figure it out. The Defense needs to have it spelled out for them.
Oh well, that's a no brainer for the SA anyway...just type it up and hand it over.

She must be found guilty of aggravated child abuse for the jury to be given the option of DP? OR....if she isn't found guilty of aggravated child abuse the defense can more likely win an appeal if she is given the DP?

In hindsight, I'm glad JP allowed it. The defense can't pizz and moan about be treated unfairly.

A better way for the State to do this would be to copy and paste the posts of ALL the 'bloggers' who managed to figure it out and send it on to the defense :)

That would be funny, but I am sure it would not be allowed!

I agree.
IMO. Baez is VERY concerned about the money issue being raised and that it must be kept SECRET. So if the Court agrees to keep it private...then Oh Well for me. perhaps one day we will find out.

"she didn't cry when Caylee went missing" ---- TL says she was awake crying at night

"so she must be fake crying about being accused": ------- she wouldn't be worried about being accused/the death penalty, whether guilty or innocent? I'm not sure I get you here.

Hmmm, I wonder why she was crying with TL since apparently Caylee was safe with the nanny and not really missing? She must have been crying at the blockbuster late fees from the movies she rented the last day Caylee was seen alive.:waitasec:

I believe KC is "crying" because all of her lies will be exposed to the world and she is going to have to face the consequences. Something she, quite frankly, has never had to do before. May she rot in H3ll.

I adore JS, but HHJP demands more professional conduct in his courtroom. Scribbling, chewing gum, bantering between the opposing attorneys will not be tolerated and he makes it clear from the get go.

in re. Ms. Lyon - I simply got the impression that he respected the fact that she had at least researched the law and was a welcome relief from the likes of tolerating & listening to an ill-prepared JB bumble along.

When AL said for the umpteenth time that the defense had no idea what 'new facts' the State was talking about when they re introduced the death penalty - I yelled "The duct tape for one" at the computer monitor - anyone else have that same reaction?

Tears of humiliation...and I hope she cries a river!
