2010.07.03 Sheriff confirms Kyron last seen *inside* school

I don't know about eating crow. I have always thought that was such a silly notion anyway like criminal cases are some type of game where there is a winner and loser with a prize awarded.:waitasec:

But I respectfully disagree. They are not giving the bio mother and step dad any preferential treatment in this case. They tell them what they want them to know and that is it. They do not divulge their investigation to them. As the Sheriff said in his PC yesterday Terri Horman is no more of a suspect than any of the other parents. No one has been ruled out.

Until they know what happened to Kyron and who did it they will not discuss what they know except among themselves. Young is not on the police force there.

And I don't believe for one second Desiree thinks her son is dead. If so she wouldn't have come out and said emphatically that "Kyron is alive.........."

IMO

I wholeheartedly agree. There is a current split between the 4 parent unit. Terri is the only one not in that unit, currently. Initially she was.

I have and have had numerous LE members in my family. The cohesive factor in this news story is the bio parent's, the bio mom's detective husband, and LE at this point.

And the Bio family, Step-dad (detective) and LE isn't talking about anything. Which leads me to believe they are all on the same page. Terri isn't apart of that page anymore.

Just based on personal experience. LOL

Oh I just read about them searching the roof in an article. Darn it I closed the window already. It was a very early article. Within the first few days, and I think the roof search was Day 1 (June 4).

Um, yes. I would think there is a very, very high probability that the school was searched the first day, and later, too. Local LE, FBI there... I just bet somebody thought of that.

Don't forget, she emailed the teacher that same afternoon asking when she could pick up Kyrons science project. IDK but why would you do that, wouldn't you just assume you would pick it up the following school day? At least I would.

To me that's something a person would do who is overcompensating for alibis. I've never asked a teacher when I would get my kids science projects. I'm also guessing that since she works as a sub there, she would know the answer to begin with - like the kids would fold it up and take it home, or the parents would get by next Tuesday, or whatever. I keep forgetting she worked in the school and knew the school which makes her email more peculiar.

I have a question to all the mothers here posting and reading.

I don't have children, so I have never gone to a school with my 7 yr old and left him in a school hallway on such a special day. We haven't heard directly from Terri about her account of the day, so here is my question. If you walk your child down the hallway, after touring all the other kids exhibits, after helping your stepchild set up his and take a nice picture, do you hug them goodbye and say " have a great day" or give him maybe a kiss goodbye. I don't know if this goodbye that day included any of these things, but I haven't heard that. Those who know my posts, have heard me say this before, "it is not what you hear in a case, but what you don't hear sometimes". So I am just curious for those of you that do have small children- step moms included.

Huh? Someone asked if several very specific areas of the school had been searched, and I was telling them I had just seen one of those areas, the roof, confirmed as searched in an article. As I'm sure you saw in my quote I responded to. So I don't understand your comment. At all.

I always take them into the classroom, kiss them goodbye, tell them I love them, make *certain* the teacher sees me and them.

However, lots of wonderful parents aren't as paranoid as me and don't walk them back to the classroom (or even show up for the science fair). Good point that we haven't heard anything from TH about this. I still can't get over (correct me please if I'm wrong) that of all her friends speaking for her about her frustration, lie detector test, etc I haven't heard her say 'I feel so guilty being the last one to see him. Please don't stop looking for him. I had nothing to do with this and am heartbroken.'

We will have to agree to disagree. LE is not going to give anyone preferential treatment and take a chance of that being thrown up in their face later on.

I have many LE members in my family and friends as well but that really is irrelevant to this case.

I don't think they are on the same page at all. The Sheriff certainly didn't act like they were to me. Just because the family may have suspicions about TH doesn't mean the LE investigators does or has any evidence showing that she is involved.

Desiree is wanting Terri to cooperate and the Sheriff comes right out and says she has been cooperating all along. So no, I don't see them on the same page.

My baby is almost 30 years old now, but at 7, I was no longer permitted to kiss or hug him in front of other kids. :)

On the 18th, Gates, press conference. I just posted the quotes.

Here's what I posted that you were quoting. Your quote tags broke.

Thanks BeanE. We have heard from LE since then and they are now stating some facts (finally) in the pressers in the last week.;)

Hi fran,

I never heard LE even mention the Hormans computers. I do know Kaine said in one of his interviews that LE has never asked him to look at the home computers. There was a lot of discussion on the board about that since most of us would have thought the computers would have been taken.

But according to Kaine they haven't been touched by LE.

IMO

I found that hard to believe, actually.

Me too. That is so astounding, I couldn't believe he said it.I had to play that a few times!

Ocean, just to clarify...I don't think it's a game to anyone, either. Kyron's stepmom is the only one that isn't being truthful as far as I'm concerned, based on my understanding of conferences and news reports.

It seems logical to me that a great divide would happen when people related to the case are being truthful and those who aren't come to light.

I dunno know. I just haven't seen any posting about the fact that bio mom is married to a detective and I have first hand experience about the brother's in blue chatting it up.

Well I have found that most little boys that age dont like to be seen kissing their mothers in public or their mothers kissing or hugging them. I guess they think it makes them look like a little baby.

But I believe inside the school Kyron would feel he is in his safe zone since he has gone to that school from the very beginning.

Since many parents just come up to the curb and let their children (young and older) out of their vehicles and watches them go through the school doors before driving off, I think most parents feel once their children are inside of the building they are safe.

So I don't see anything sinister about him telling her in the hallway that he was going to his classroom and she let him.

IMO

Thanks, those quotes make it as clear as mud :(
So Gates said last known person to see Kyron before he disappeard and the last person to see Kyron?
I guess he really believes that Terri is the last person to see Kyron. :)

(but he didn't say where, by chance, did he?)

This quote from Gates on the 18th when LE announced Terri was last to see him makes it clear that took place inside the school:

-2:20 We're hoping that because she was here at the time that Kyron disappeared and with him and I mean it's naturally she'd be with him, she brought him to school

So with inside the school being the place for Kyron's last sighting (the topic of this thread :) ), and Terri being the person, the only thing we have from LE about where specifically inside the school that was, is Lt Mary talking about the stairwells.

I can't get away from those stairwells. :(

The thing about Lt. Mary's statements is that it was very early in the case, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense, and I do wonder if something got lost in translation, perhaps because/if at that time, she didn't understand the layout of the school.

I've wondered if what Terri actually had said, is that she and Kyron each went *down* a stairwell. But I don't want to get too far from what we actually have from LE.

But see that is the problem. The media has put out that she lied. However Sheriff Staton said he had no knowledge that she has lied.

I really believe the LE on the case and not the media spin of unnamed sources.

I have one, and yes, I do say all those things.

Also, I have walked my child half-way down the hallway because my child thinks they are grown and get embarrassed when I do those such things you mention.

I wouldn't say I am a bad Mom for doing that, I would hope not. This case however has made me look at those moments with new perspective.

My youngest is a 7 year old boy and usually my sitter takes him to school but on the days that I do take him I make a huge scene hugging and kissing him goodbye, telling him how much I will miss him, more just to mess with him, and he is a little embarassed but enjoys it because he knows I am messing with him. On the last day of school last week he asked me to just walk him to where the office door is and to say goodbye to him there instead of continuing down the side of the school to where the playground is located - LOL

Is there a stairwell on both ends of that floor? Could Kyron have been coming up the one closest to his room and she walked to the other end and went down that one to her vehicle?

LE hasn't given us much to believe. Unless they're the unnamed sources supplying the media with very tiny leaks with which to apply spin. That's how I tend to look at it, anyway.
