It's funny that you mentioned that, justus4all. I do it all the time. Really, I do. I can set my text message ring tones to whatever I want (like music, or different ringtones). I can also put it on vibrate or silent. I prefer silent or vibrate because I do not have to disturb everyone at work. And plus at work we're not allowed on the phone unless on break or lunch. So texting is the next best thing while working. I can totally see Ron texting while at work. You can go unnoticed texting on your phone. Trust me, I know.

But on a different note, my friend does the same thing but for other reasons. She does it to hide her infidelity.

For the flurry of phone calls...and the texting...going on that night..SURELY the LE can get a "transcript" of the text messages and the time and place of the phone calls...They would KNOW what these 2 would be texting..

I agree, alwaysonmymind! I had answered you when you posted about 'Ronald supposedly talking' on another thread. it came out earlier than this thread that Ronald was 'talking'.

The so called source is AH. I am just not terribly impressed, and just have to wonder if there is anything valid in what AH and his sources say! I will just wait until I hear this from LE.

Either there was a fight over a gun or there wasn't. RC claimed from the beginning that there wasn't. Now, he admits there was.

This is new out of RC's mouth...but it is not new information. Whether the gun fight had anything to do with what happened to Haleigh or not, the fact remains that Ron lied about the fight from the beginning.

LOL, I don't know about LE demanding a lie detector test for Ron, but I've been demanding one for a long time now, especially for his newest plea.

Ron believes Misty is the key, just like LE does. He concedes there was a fight over a gun. We are waiting until sentencing on September 24th to get more information, per AH.

So now Ron thinks that Misty is the key to solving this case? In the beginning, He swore that Misty didn't have anything to do with Haleigh going missing. He said Misty couldn't help that she was the last one to see Haleigh, does anyone else remember that?

Ok, so there was a fight over a gun....why deny it at first? Why couldn't Ron own up to that (at least) in the beginning, when that rumor came out? He wanted no part of it, IMO. Why does he feel that it is now safe to own up to the fight happening? This fight has to be connected somehow. Definitely.

My initial thoughts:

If Haleigh was thrown into that river at Shell Harbor, why would Ron point out that he knew Tommy was at his parents' home? Unless he called him on a landline at Magnolia St and the records are there to prove it so he has no choice but to admit it. :waitasec:

By the same token, if he's finally admitting a fight took place it's because he can no longer deny it. Everyone else is willing to testify that the fight took place, so they've got him dead to rights on it. :waitasec:

Yeah, I'll admit that it is my current theory that either LE or the SA doesn't really want the truth. And before anyone jumps on me, please remember I was one of LE's strongest supporters in this case. But once Ronnie got his charges dropped, that went South for me.

My best guesstimate here is that Ron now needs to milk the "Joe did it" story to the end. In order to do that, he has to show a motive for Joe to be a the MH that night. The "gun story" would do it. And just think about it, he now has two (probably hostile) witnesses right now with the same story. Wow, I say just hook this sucker up to a poly and see where the moon is shining.

I have always been an avid supporter of LE, all my life but even I can read the papers and see just how much corruption is involved with LE. There seems to be arrests every day where LE are the arrestees. I truly hope that the evidence doesn't disappear on this case. I wish so much that the SBI or FBI were deeply involved in this case.

Actually, I recall seeing a video where TN admitted the fight and Ronald was standing right there. As she said it, Ronald started shaking his head and said, "no, no." It was the video where the guy from the funeral home first spoke.

Correct me if I am wrong....BUT....If you are getting a text message on your phone..will your phone ring...like normal???

The point I am trying to make...IF...Ron was sending Misty all these text messages..instead of calling her....Perhaps in receiving a text message the phone ringer is SILENT and therefore..where ever..she/he is...they can communicate without ALERTING they are on the phone...in their surroundings............anyone??? thanks

& let me tell you...if Ron was sending out as many texts, as Art now claims, then I'd bet money that Misty was answering back. To continue to send out unanswered texts, would be pointless. Also, IMO, if that many calls & texts had gone unanswered, Ron wouldn't have made the peanut stop, & asked Misty what she was still doing up, when he got home. He would've wanted to know where she had been.

IIRC, Teresa also claimed that there was a fight. I couldn't understand how even his family was saying that there was a fight but Ron was denying it. It didn't make sense to me.

I think you labeled that fight, just right.....A GUNFIGHT. IMO, this was no average fist fight...too many guns involved in this case. JMO of course.

ETA: Didn't Jo's lawyer mention something about them telling LE all about the fight? I think it was on NG.

Yep! Teresa was one of the first people who brought up the gun fight with Joe. I think Ron straightened her out and she shut up after that.
