Do you suppose that HHJP might address this motion in this Friday's hearing?

Oh my GOD, I hope so!!!! Friday's hearing will be a DOOZY if that motion is brought up! I cannot WAIT!

I hope HHJP does defer to the 500 bucks a day JA suggested! That would be awesome and JB would totally deserve it!

Wasn't me. I looked at the Clerk's site at 4:30 and it wasn't there. Must have been filed or faxed at the last minute.

I hope WESH puts it up!! Probably won't until after the 6 PM news, if they're the only ones that have it. Then they can have the exclusive. :(

I think it's Sentinel that has it (and they don't share), based on this paragraph:

Casey Anthony attorney Jose Baez has filed a lengthy motion asking the court to reconsider the sanction imposed against him last week for failing to turn over discovery information to the prosecution.

Let me guess... he doesn't even have $583?

I don't think it's that.

I think JB is attempting to have a battle of wills with the Honorable Perry. Let me tell you how that's gonna end JB, you're gonna lose that battle and on EPIC proportions.

And I think he's filing it just out of spite (sound familiar miss maybe because I'm a spiteful B!tch?). It's gotta grate JB to hand over his own $$$ to the SA. and BIG time.

I wanna get my hands on this filing. Like NOW!

BBM

Gee, isn't that unusual? :innocent:

Yeah, I'm kinda pissed. At myself. I thought about going down there about 4:40 and getting the new Depo notice that was filed, but decided to do it tomorrow, maybe there might be more things to get.

SURE wishing I would have gone now!! :banghead::banghead::banghead:

.

Muzikman, have we mentioned lately how very much we  you? :rocker:

Please to let us know when we can help with the filings.

And let me make this clear, this IS NOT in the best interest for JB's client. He's letting his ego get in the way of what is in the best interests of Casey. He's going to end up pissing off this Judge to the determent of his client.

I wanna see this motion to see if CM had a hand in this. If it's well written then you know JB had assistance.

Added: if the motion is asking for reconsideration to turn in the reports then it might have been filed to assist Casey but if JB filed this solely to relieve himself of the $$$ sanctions I hope Casey is aware that JB is going to tank her case even further. This was an epically stupid move to make.

Maybe that list of penalty phase witnesses?

BBM. You would THINK that Cheney would warn him that this is a bad idea!!!

Oh, wait. It was Cheney that filed the motion to get Strickland to recuse himself!!! One of their WORST moves EVER.

Guess none of the others on the team are involved enough to know what's going on. I'll bet Finnell is as surprised as we are!! heh

If it's well written, we'll know Finnell helped him with his homework. Especially if it has case law attached. :D

I wrote this to a friend at 11:22 today. I'm turning into a real prophet! :takeabow:

We should be seeing if Jose files a complaint today! It wouldn't surprise me if he files a motion for the Judge to overturn the sanctions because he isn't required by law to file reports.

This should be interesting to read... I want it NOW!

and is correctly cited as well. I wanna scream everytime I read one of his motions. I almost want to send JB a blue book just hoping he skims it.

OMG CarolinaMoon

I'm not surprised. I assumed he'd do this. And I'd be thrilled if Perry upped the ante. But realistically Baez can't be penalized for contesting. The Judge gave him that option and he made the deadline. So unless his argument is accepted (which it won't be) I'm sure the Judge will just say *denied* and tell him once again when and where to deliver the check. Of course, unless the Judge does a written response before the hearing Baez will get an extra day (isn't the check due this Thursday) to present the motion in person and then probably get an extra few days, over the weekend, to pay the fine. In the meantime he'll probably file an emergency super duper motion again at the beginning of next week saying he's appealing and taking this all the way to the Supreeeeme Court. Or something.

LOL I first read this as "This should be IRRITATING to read."

Which it will be.

JB just doesn't know when to quit, Talk about having big brass ones!
Judge Perry is going to be so aggravated and I am feeling afraid for Mr. Baaayezz.

So, by virtue of Baez' motion contesting the sanction, does this mean he's automatically afforded a chance to argue the matter in court? Or am I wrong that the just can simply deny it in writing and still expect Baez to pony up by the original deadline of this Thursday?

Aww, don't worry about it, it's ok. We'll still get to see it and you'll still have the extra cash for the really good stuff coming up.

Yup. It was irritating to read.

And why do they AGAIN talk about the State not having the same financial burden? Like they're the only defense in the history of defenses who ever tried a case against the State. I mean... really.
