Just getting here and catching up ... WTH is she thinking? Only thing that makes sense is someone is trying to get/has got her an Attorney and she doesn't want to make it known yet.

Wow. I can't believe she didn't let the court appoint her a lawyer! Unless she somehow found the money to put a good one on retainer, and we just don't know it yet. :innocent:

Per KVMC/KAUM: Jim interviewed Sheriff Patrick Toombs a little while ago...we will have the interview on the noon and 5 o'clock news. Billie does not have an attorney and did not request one.

JMHO but I kinda think that BD will think she is smart enough to represent herself - at least on these "small measley" charges. It really wouldn't surprise me.

Turned down a public defender. Wow - there are just no words. Bet LE is very very very happy about this - plus it puts her on court record that she has not invoked and shows no interest in invoking - keep on talking BD, keep on talking..............

Shoot, even Casey Anthony was smart enough to get a lawyer when she needed one. Wow, bad move, Billie. I never say this, but she honestly should get a lawyer at this point.

I thought she needed a lawyer from day one. Do people really think that only the guilty need lawyers? I remember how shocked everybody was when the Ramsey's lawyered up, but now it's the norm. Maybe she doesn't want to sit down with a lawyer and tell her story and explain her inconsistencies. MOO.

I think she is hoping that someone thinks enough about her to do it for the publicity. But if not, then she will find the money to hire an attorney and we can only speculate how that will happen.

Maybe many, many, many, press hungry Attorneys have called her too. She's just deciding which one. Wonder if any have offered pro-bono or discounted fees?

This is very important, IMO.

LE must have grounds to believe that Shawn has been destroying evidence, in the time AFTER he moved out of Billie's home.

The search warrant was issued out of Howard County because his mother’s house in Big Spring was his last known address.


Officials also executed a search warrant for Adkins’ grandmother’s home in Dunn, where he had been staying after leaving Billie Dunn’s house in the aftermath of Hailey's disappearance. Scurry County District Attorney Dana Cooley declined to comment on any specifics related to that warrant.

I really think there are lawyers out there who have offered pro bono services. The ones who've kept up with the case, probably cringe at her being unrepresented. & then I think about how Casey Anthony kind of just stumbled onto Jose Baez...kind of mind boggling, isn't it? MOO.

JMO but even if I were an attorney, I wouldn't touch this case with a 10 foot pole for all the money Charlie Sheen is making much less do it for free:snooty:
