a putrid root is different than a post mortum root banding - yes, Dorothy your question can be asked simpler but you are still not getting any where. They are not the same.

she is trying to get the witness to admit that hairs from non-deceased persons if exposed to dirt, water, etc can get "darkening" but the witness keeps saying that the darkening is not the same as a post mortem root banding

I understand - but if witness said they look exactly alike, how is the defense gonna explain why/how Caylee hair was exposed to soil and water - long term (to start decomposition process) -- this muddying the water, couldn't help them if she could get the answer she is looking for, right?
