This Juror is not for the DP - but doesn't know if he's against it. He just knows he's not "for" it.

Isn't that like saying "I'm kind of pregnant"?:waitasec: :waitasec:

No questions about the DP from the SA.

I swear if AF questions him for a million hrs, I will scream... just sayin' :gasp:

I should not criticize the PJs but I dont believe they're being so very honest to say they have NO opinion on the DP. I never in 36 years of life have ever met a person who did not have an opinion on the DP.

When I hear them say that, it makes me think they are trying to say what they should to fit the situation.

This guy would be good! All he does is work and sleep, not much time to follow crime cases.
Yes, and these people DO exist, which is why I feel that ICA can definitely get a fair jury trial. We sleuthers get so caught up in these cases that sometimes we forget, imo, that not everyone on earth follows true crime cases; not everyone watches 48 Hours, 20/20, ID Discovery; not everyone knows who Amanda Knox is... or Ted Bundy, for that matter. I went to lunch with some friends recently and I brought up how excited I was that this trial was finally getting started. Out of six people I was with, only two knew (minimally) who ICA was, one person "thought he remembered hearing the name," another thought murder trials were "depressing" and to be avoided or read about all costs (he only read hunting and 'outdoors'-type magazines), and the other two folks just looked at me with blank stares! They all think I'm crazy, lol!!

Bold mine!

Totally O/T and Mods I apologize but can a victim's family watch an execution?

NOT ME , but anyone?

I really appreciate the commentary. I lose In Session at noon and don't get live feed on the computer (too slow) so I'm following along more closely with this thread.

Whenever my dear granddaughter will let me I check in!!!! I think I'll have to put out a bowl of candy and a pile of sodas and let the grandkids "graze" for a few months once trial actually starts! They keep thwarting my efforts to follow along!!!

If I - at this moment - would be asked if I could put everything I've heard, read, and seen about this case aside - I would have to say yes, without reservations.

If I were asked if I can decide whether to impose the death penalty or life in prison, I would have to say yes, I can. Then I would break down in tears.

What number are we up to today? Have any been chosen?

Two (2)

This is the third potential juror to be questioned so far...

:waiting:

Yes, most attend.

I think he's totally playing it safe on the topic. When pressed by the Judge he says he could do it. When pressed by AF, he says he thinks there are other alternatives (citing DP cases when the person put to death was later found not guilty when it was too late).

So much waffling, all I need is butter and syrup.

I think some people have a hard time articulating their beliefs too though. Some people aren't against it but aren't foaming at the mouth for it in every case either. i think that's what he's trying to say but is doing a poor job.

This is like pulling teeth without the benefits of an anesetic...slow and painful with a lot of prying and screaming. (The screaming is mine.)

:banghead:

After I bang my head on the keyboard for a few minutes,
I remember it took 10 weeks for the Peterson trial jury selection.
For our safety, all Smilie Brick Walls will be replaced by Nerf for the duration of trial.
It's getting harder..I feel a coniption fit coming on and have to step away!

They do seem to be picking up the pace in this portion of voir dire. But, at this point, I've got my doubts that they're going to get a jury selected and start next Tuesday.

Family is allowed, I believe at executions

The first two jurors 1340 and 1232 were asked to return for round 3. This is juror 1129 (the third juror)
