Totally O/T and Mods I apologize but can a victim's family watch an execution?

NOT ME , but anyone?

A victim's immediate family is invited to attend. As well as the inmate's immediate family.

Yes, and these people DO exist, which is why I feel that ICA can definitely get a fair jury trial. We sleuthers get so caught up in these cases that sometimes we forget, imo, that not everyone on earth follows true crime cases; not everyone watches 48 Hours, 20/20, ID Discovery; not everyone knows who Amanda Knox is... or Ted Bundy, for that matter. I went to lunch with some friends recently and I brought up how excited I was that this trial was finally getting started. Out of six people I was with, only two knew (minimally) who ICA was, one person "thought he remembered hearing the name," another thought murder trials were "depressing" and to be avoided or read about all costs (he only read hunting and 'outdoors'-type magazines), and the other two folks just looked at me with blank stares! They all think I'm crazy, lol!!
Don't feel alone my think I am a dork. Follows crime cases and watches eagles in a nest.

I KNOW I LOVE it since they have changed the format! Remember when they used to be separate??? It was a PAIN! I'm anal and I tab each section and my go to rules. And regarding the updates my only complaint is that they are supposed to come out in July but they RARELY get them to us in July we normally don't get them until September or so. And then they are moot due to the new changes made in December.

You made me crack up! I would always get mine all tabbed out just the way I liked.........and BOOM, time to do it all over again! Plus everyone would steel mine because I color code just like JB!!!!

This is costing me a small fortune, I need to take a break now and then so I have been surfing shopping sites.....grrr I bought a new coffee maker and a laptop...sigh But they are necessary, I need coffee to keep me awake and my desktop attempted a meltdown on me, I can't afford to be without access to the internet for the next 6 weeks or so.....I have waited too long for this trial to get under way. I am out for the rest of the day...see you in the AM.

AF: do you get that if casey is found guilty she will be put to death with the needle.

yes ma'am

AF: and LWOP means she will spend her life in prison.

yes.

AF: have you discussed the dp with family, clergy, at all? Or are you being forced to confront...

at this time you are forced to confront...but in my heart I am not in favor, certainly with the new DNA technologies and so we don't want to make a mistake...we would have made a mistake in a case where a person would have been put to death and shouldn't been.

AF: is it that it is final and that is the primary reason why you are not for it?

yes

AF: any polictical views why?

no

AF: religious or beliefs in general?

(btw, I am shortening this man's answers, he goes on)

no.

AF: are you part of an organization that takes a position on the dp.

no

AF: as the judge said you would have to make a different penalty phase decision you talk about it and reach a conclusion as to whether she is guilty and have to decide with the others. But in the penalty phase, each juror reports their individual decision. whether LWOP or DP. Do you think you can give an individual decision?

yes.

AF: can you use your life experence,etc...

yes, we all world.

AF: do you tend to relinquish a held decision that you made just because another juror felt differently?

no

AF: would you try to influence another juror into voting the way you do?

no, it is a personal individual decision.

Why do I, as a potential juror, have to speak to my clergy about the DP, I believe the inmate can do that herself, before she gets her injection!!

GRRRR, I don't agree with these "guilt" a potential juror questions, if you can tell, lol

I am wide awake - it is only 1:30pm my time - however Ms. Finnell's voice is putting me to sleep. I feel like I've had as much medication as ICA appears to have had.

I really do not understand why I canNOT STOP watching this!!!!!!!

For the same reason its hard to resist looking at an accident scene......gotta see what JB is gonna do/say next...

I had denta/gum surgery this morning. Watched the ending of questioning juror #1 and start of #2, took a vidocen and nap. We were on page 8 and juror #2. After my long nap I come back to page 56 and only the THIRD juror?

Forget the trial lasting 6-8 weeks, picking the jury is going to take that long!

Did they dismiss #2 or keep him?

I should not criticize the PJs but I dont believe they're being so very honest to say they have NO opinion on the DP. I never in all my years of life have never met a person who did not have an opinion on the DP.

Thank you so much for making that point. I was just going through the same exercise and i cannot ever remember not hearing a definitive opinion in any conversations about it over the course of my lifetime. I don't think I know anyone who doesn't have an opinion ........... but more importantly everyone I know has an opinion.

A victim's immediate family is invited to attend. As well as the inmate's immediate family.

So it'll be an empty room with GA and CA, then.
