I don't see how he can stay; he said he needed beyond all POSSIBLE doubt.
Mind you, I am not especially for the DP personally, but I thought you had to be, to be on this type of juror, otherwise what does DP qualified mean? The judge's explanation is not helping me.

The defense team in the last few days have made me so..........

I am not as concerned about the sentencing phase as the guilt phase. JP will listen to the jury's recommendation for sentencing, but he is the one who chooses the sentence.

Are you sure? I thought it was the jury that decided.

  • #124
He's not going to make the jury.

  • #125
Yes. would prevent me from finding her guilty. Yes.

Yes, but each of these PJs are only hearing it twice.

O/T, I'm banished to my room so my daughter can watch tv. I worked hard all week to get my 'home office' set up just to find out my wireless is almost non-existant back there. Very unhappy.

O/T when I get kicked off computer (kids! go figure!)---I have to use my IPOD and it is sooooooooo slooooooooow.....:banghead:

LOL. Agreed. I'd like to use one on AF who is about to bore us all here in about 5 seconds.

I will find some cleaning to do and rely on you guys for a blow by blow.

  • #129
all the judge is doing is reading the law for the record so if he excuses him on cause there is no reversal on appeal.

  • #130
lol. AF looks bored out of her gourd. Pot...kettle...and all that stuff.

  • #131
So, does the Websleuths team want to use a strike?

The fact that he stated he was "totally opposed to capital punishment" and he would have to be convinced beyond "any possible doubt"
I would like to excuse this PJ for cause, Your Honorable Modship Kimster, thank you :)

  • #132
Is this customary? I mean...to keep a PJ in a death penalty case that does not believe in the death penalty?

  • #133
Even AF is getting disgusted.

  • #134
He just can't do it, and he won't say that he can. Bless him.

  • #135
Excuse him already!

  • #136
Would affect his ability. Not be able to do that. To the first degree. No.

  • #137
Oh poop!

  • #138
He is saying he physically would not be able to find her guilty because of the DP.

He would be unable to follow the court's direction, and follow the law.

  • #139
bye... lovely parting gifts for you

  • #140
AF needs to pay attention and stop staring at the ceiling
