Dont forget we need 8 alternates. Might as well go through thebother 15 then let the dt strike 1 and the state strike 4. That would give us 21. 12 jurors and 9 alternates. Assume the defense and state gets 1 strike each for alternates. We would have the number. Plus DT can't use that as a appeal issue.

As long as no more than one of them is released for cause by the judge before they get to the striking part.

Because if he strikes or the State strikes or they are dimissed for cause - and we run out of the 15 before we reach the number of jurors we need - then they will call in more jurors.

If you recall the court has already gone through a pool of jurors and had to call in more.

It could continue to happen. You could have 13 jurors dismissed for cause and then DT and SA use their strikes and we are back to square one.

MO

Total they only have 6 strikes left so that won't happen? Right?

IIRC, His Honor said before this ever started, way back when, that they would have a jury picked in a week, if not, they would be headed back to Orange County to do it.
What happened to that plan?

And start all over?!

Please...no. I can't handle starting all over. We're close to having one...keep the faith people.

I can't see how this is the fault of the defense. They never set a time limit on jury selection. His Honor did. How did he not see this coming? It is not required for the DT to submit to a prearranged time limit. They are allowed to do everything they have done. They are not the only ones taking so long to questions each juror. This has been an agonizingly slow process. How could it have been any other way?
Sorry, not pro DT, but this is on the judge, imo.

iTA. If my life were on the line I want to have faith in due process. Baby Caylee deserves justice and having to do this again will not be good for her.

Not sure if this belongs here or not.... but what must they be thinking in the Anthony household about all this? They must be watching.:banghead::banghead:

GA and CA are probably talking about how unfair they are being to ICA.:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

Baez only has 1 strike left.. The State has 4. The Baston Challenge is if Baez thinks the state is dismissing a minority. (which is why 1319). That wouldn't get rid of the whole jury.

I'm still hopeful this can be done by tomorrow.

Like I said, I'm no lawyer - just trying to understand the process :)

1319: older AA lady had a challenge by state that was denied

True, but they still have 1 1/2 days to try it.

A two year old reacts the same way when you threaten them over and over without ever following through.

I agree.
And going to Miami-Dade IMO gives Baez a Jury of HIS peers...
:twocents:

THIS Judge will not take this trial to Miami-Dade County ...IMO - no matter what this Miami-dude wants.....

It seems as with everything DT, they are wanting to use this as jury selection practice.

I wonder if JP is studying case law or is making calls for other court rooms and that is why he isn't in the court room yet. My stomach is in knots over this. :(

IIRC Bristol is in the NW part of FL, very far from Orlando.

It is also where Ronald Cummings is serving his time for drug trafficking at Liberty CI!

Bristol is only an hour from me. Do you think RC would put me on his visitors list?

Loved watching Finnell running her numbers until ICA kept interrupting her.

Defense still keeping Bolin out of the courtroom, guess "that" sort of media attention was too hot for them.

What happened or how did go down that she had to be introduced?? I'm sorry I missed that. Or wait, maybe I didn't. I remember struggling to hear her name.

I think AF may be calculating how much $$ this is costing.

Why did JB want to keep delaying? Isn't he working for slave wages? The longer he puts it off the longer he has to wait to give his brilliant opening statement. He should be chomping at the bit to see everyone's jaw drop.

IMO, JB nows he will lose this trial and he is not preared to bow down.
As soon as the trial is over JB will be a nobody again........rright now he
thinks he is somebody........KWIM?

They need to come to Lee County for this jury. I swear that no one... even with jury selection going on... knows anything about this case except me! The only reason my family even knows about this case is because I call them venting about it. So that is a total of 4 people that would not qualify for this jury out of over 500,000 people. Maybe even 600,000.

Tic toc... Tic toc

Wonder if AF and DS are ready to pull their hair right now. They have to sit there and listen to KC all day, and now they may have to start over.

AF sending a text for ICA to someone...lol
