Neither DT nor SA are going to question in re to hardship.

HHJP asked for a rep from each side to approach.

  • #423
Does the DT really need 3 people to write down if a PJ has a hardship or not? Does Casey really need to be doing that as well?

I never realized how many people were not paid for jury duty. It's really sad.

Most that are, are usually government or union jobs. A lot of bidnessess pay for some, but not for 6-8 weeks.

At 5'5", HJBP looks so little next to JA who is over 6 ft.

Ok - please tell me if I'm wrong on this.

each side gets same number of additional strikes re however many alternates...say 5. So that really 10, right? So what is wrong with this equation? +5-10= waaaaay less than you started out with. If that equation is right, we will always eliminate more than is added. Color me confused.

P.S. I never was good at math.

From In Session on Facebook:

"Another potential juror takes care of a terminally ill boy with only 60 days to live. 7 of the 10 in the second row claim hardship."

How many? Two?

4156: no hardship? no family matters? In some ways that's a blessing.

Yes sir...if I knew then what I know now about raising children...I would have raised tomatoes. At least you can eat them.

Juror dismissed.

DT: Objection your honor. We like her!

Just back from a meeting...just a quick question.
Has JP sworn anyone in yet??????????????????????????????

  • #431
Why don't they require all PJ to show up with a letter from employer stating whether they would be compensated or not?

Sure would save a lot of time and tax payer $'s.

This is a sentamental word between me & my dad-Long story, but dad's from Mempho (Memphis) and it's a common pronunciation there :)

Yes it is, kinda like POLEice.

:wave:Hi Everyone . I was watching this morning but had to go out. Back now but can't find any info on how many we have now.
Last time I was watching there were 12 jurors and i think 2 alternates. Do we still have that number?
Thanks

  • #437
It seems if the jurors had been told up front the case could go 6-8 weeks, there would not be so many excuses now as to why people can't serve.

  • #438
The method his honor is using now is exactly how the jury I was chosen was picked. People were questioned together. And those who didn't fit the needs were excused by calling their numbers.

  • #439
7 excused in second row

  • #440
4029 4005 4012 4091 4175 4001 4003 you are hereby excused.
