JB and CM are really messy! No wonder they want an order of witnesses from the state.

As I understand it, the strikes for the jurors and the strikes for the alternates are not interchangeable. So the defense has one strike left and the State has three (unless HHJP gives them more, which I personally don't think he will do). They have to be used for the juror panel of 12. I think HHJP said each side would receive one additional strike per alternate, but those do have to be used on alternates only.

Anyone feel free to correct me if I understand it wrong.

No, this is correct. IF the State or the Defense chooses to strike any of the 12 in place right now, alternates will be slid into their places. Once all strikes for the 12 are used... we move on to alternates. Both the State and Defense have strikes, depending on how many alternates, to use during the alternate phase.

I'm also getting a little worried!

What juror numbers are left?

My notes show 4060 and 4123. Now I am not 100% sure of these number so I am reaching out for more info. Thanks.

thats what i have too. both are women and i think 1 of them might have a criminal issue and not going to qualify.

Let me explain this to you because I know you are too dimwitted to understand these two sentences on your own:

Death Penalty means she will be given a lethal injection and be killed in prison.

Life Without Parole means she will be sentenced to prison without parole and will die a natural death in prison.

:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Does AF believe these potential jurors have lived in the middle of a swamp with no human contact, no education, and no common sense? :maddening:

There have been a lot of cases where LWOP did not exactly mean that...I THINK she is just wanting people to know she will die in prison, either way.

questions about you.

"SWEET"

Ha Ha

I love talking about myself. I am young and need nothing other than myself for comfort.
Unless, people are picking on me and then I need my parents.

IMO
Is it me or does it seem that most pot. jurors get confused with the Age as a Mitigating factor question

I don't think it is that they are confused, but rather "Are you kidding me?" kind of shock.

Just before court broke for lunch, Perry made it clear that he expected opening statements to begin Monday morning in his Orange County Courtroom.

But instead of powering through the afternoon, Baez was absent after lunch and Perry called the court to order for less than a minute before adjourning for the day.

Dismissed by the State 3283: Male, 42, single, never married, no children, 3 siblings, served as a juror once for insurance fraud. Have anyone in your family been accused of a crime? Juror: "I won't answer that in court". Parents still living - from Louisiana, Mississippi - they are still together

Tuesday, May 17, 2011
Dismissed by the State: 3238:Cosmetologist, said one of her husbands was struck by a car, and a decision had to be made to remove him from life support. Retired, does hair on the side. All her previous husbands died (yikes). She is currently engaged. She appears to be in her 50’s and has really big blonde hair. Seat #54

Dismissed by the State: #3042 "Honestly, I've been praying for her, the mother," said Juror 3042, a woman who appeared to be in her early 30s. "I feel bad about the whole situation."

Dismissed by the Defense: 3190:This juror appears to be in late 40's. Petite. Blonde pixie haircut. Says she's heard a little about the case. Feels if someone took a life – believes in the death penalty. This prospective juror owns her own small biz, plays tennis, watches Dancing with the Stars, CSI is married to a dentist who works in NY.

LWOP now means just that. No parole. I forgot when it was abolished, late '90's maybe? I'll look it up, I just remember having to type that jury instruction and Motion for all the Capital cases for a few years afterward.

ETA: Wait, it may depend on the State.

Was a junior counselor & daycare worker for 3 & 4 year olds... think the DT may strike him there. I've known quite a few young men his age that are fantastic with kids that age.

I think she is stating Florida law, where LWOP means just that. In other states you can get LWOP and not actually die in jail. It escapes me now, but there is a state that has 30 years as 'life' ... after that you can get parole (every 2,5,10 years)

Oh 'Beach! You missed a lot!!!! There was also the PJ that said talking went on the jury room yesterday (the one that was a pool for a bunch of trials) and everyone thought Casey was guilty! We're so expecting a motion from the DT about it!

It's been a really TRYING day!
