IMO, when this occurred during the deposition, JB wished he was as smart as the SA, and this is his chance to look as smart.

This marking of calendars is just not effective, in my opinion.

It might have a slight chance if it was on the monitor screen, but why the he77 hasn't JB learned how to use the equipment in the courtroom? He's younger than JA...he should have those skills...his little "boards" are ridiculous and if I was the jury, I would wonder how good a lawyer is who is not as technically inclined as the state.

No, I believe it's a common reaction to being badgered by a lawyer while the whole world watches after you're accused of molesting your daughter and helping to conceal the dead body of your granddaughter. MOO

I agree with you, as would everyone here who has been following this case. However, the DT in its opening statements has cast its eye towards GA and a cover up. Any sort of doubt they can put in the jurors' minds (which don't have the large background on this case that we do), is all they need to save their client.

I see all these people mocking and attacking JB, but he has a job to do. Yes, it seems like he is incompetent because he is all over the place, but, at this point, what is he supposed to do? Throw up the white flag and say, I failed my client? We don't want that either, otherwise we get an instant appeal for ineffective counsel.

Its clear to me where the defense is going with this (and other lines of questioning with other witnesses). Its a sound strategy given their opening statement.

There seems to be an overwhleming number of posters here who become distressed by any testimony or statement which tends to benefit the defense. Regardless of your opinion on what truly happened...this trial was turned on its head after opening statements.

This will not be a parade to the gallows many were anticipating, in fact there is a good chance - unless the prosecution can convince the jury that their story (including lack of COD) is more likely than the defense version - that ICA will be found not guilty.

The credibility (moreso lack thereof) of GA is crucial to the defense, so they will highlight and press all inconsistencies.

But it's not a strategy, it's the truth. GA is lying from what he said before. That strengthens the DT imo. I'll be glad to pull up GA's past testimony later tonight and link it on the gas can thread. I've never trusted GA or CA so this just confirms my feelings. We can't trust anything they say (along with KC).
