Did he also just admit that the DT agrees that KC was not looking for her daughter in the period b/t June 16-July 15, 2008? Wow....so now they agree that she was out partying and is a big fat liar, and did he also say she has a bad character? I don't think I would be thrilled with him defending me in this way. I mean how is that supposed to help the jury see her as a not guilty defendant?

I have no idea why the State isn't objecting. It assumes facts that are not in evidence.

I'm a layperson knowing nothing about forensics, etc., but is it possible that the State is letting them get away with it because they can prove it was not a drowning?

Now JB is objecting to the State continually asking if the witnesses were told Caylee was kidnapped, missing or anything else because the defense "said" she drowned on the 16th. So, according to JB, it's pointless and serves no purpose' for the State to keep asking the same questions over and over. Wow.

Yet JB is continually asking the same stupid questions of all the State's witnesses as to if they were around on June 16th 'when Caylee drowned'....and THAT's not in evidence either. <mod snip> opening statement is not evidence.

I think that is what preceeded this murder. Cindy was telling Casey she had to step up and be a better, more involved mother. Not Cindy's fault that Casey murdered Caylee, of course.

I'm not blaming CA for Caylee's death. I don't think CA thought in her wildest dreams that KC would intentionally kill her. I am shocked at how bad KC was. As a nurse CA should have had more knowledge of personality disorders and available help than the average person. I don't think KC suddenly got this way after the birth of Caylee.

IS showing Mallory testimony- JB asks her if Caylee loved her mother -- that's when she started crying.

Casey killed Caylee who loved her mother so much - that's what Mallory is crying about.

The defense says it's been conceeded by defense that ICA was not looking for Caylee. No reason to keep this up. lol, so because the defense says it was ugly coping the state shouldn't present their case that it was murder? lololol.

Do they honestly think they can keep evidence from coming into trial based on their last ditch admissions? That's like a plea with no deal. These people are beyond...is this how Casey always got out of trouble? I said I stole the gas, what more do you want?!

Wouldn't you think the lack of pschological professional testifying on behalf of ICA would be a giant red flag to the jury?

Yes, the jury is eagerly anticipating a professional to come up there and explain to them exactly what was going on with Casey. They won't get it and therefore, they can not consider it because there was no evidence to back it up. They will be left with a young woman who has done nothing but lied and maliciously went after her own family to save herself. They can only consider the evidence in this case. Jose's word is not evidence.

I believe because these issues are related to court procedure and not the trial. These type of motions and discussions are to be held away from the jurors.

Normally it would be at sidebar, but since they were already out at recess, they could do it at the podium.

If ICA was really that ill, wouldn't the defense offered an insanity defense or plea? With the nearly three years that ICA has served, it is likely she would already be in the state hospital getting the care and treatment she "needs". IMO.

What do others think?

I think she needs help and it's sad that her family didn't see it and now her attorney isn't helping as far as I can see.

the jury only hears the evidence that relates to the case. The matters of law, etc., are done out of their hearing.

Also, the jury is going to see just how much Caylee did love Casey... and it is going to make it even worse on Casey because how could she kill this beautiful baby that loved her so much?? Because she hated Cindy more than she loved Caylee.
