Oh come on! Next of kin of CAYLEE? Isn't it Casey's kin, since she's on trial?

  • #62
Lee just wanted in this weekend. Thats why they are doing it now.

  • #63
If the DT was better prepared and a few other things I can't say or I'll violate the rules (oh go ahead, use your imagination) there wouldn't be a need for so many sidebars there Mister CM.

  • #64
CM says presumption that legislature knows what they are doing when writing legislation. They do not describe who exactly is considered "next of kin"

An uncle was mentioned as next of kin for identification in a minor custody case. No case law says an uncle is next of kin in a situation where the defendant objected to their presence.

Is there a reason why the defense does not want Lee's depo in? I did not read his depo

  • #66
I am soooo shocked they (DT) did not depose Lee.

  • #67
Ok ok ok Mr Mason... no cases that you know of in which an uncle was exempted from sequestration. What say you, HHJP?

  • #68
Looks like the Defense team is afraid of Lee as well...

At some point, they are going to realize where their fingers need to be pointed.

  • #69
CM is full of hot air, ridiculous!!

  • #70
Kind of a silly rule. LA can just watch all the witnesses on TV.

  • #71
Oh man, CM was not what I wanted to hear first thing in the morning.

Hi y'all!

  • #72
Does it really matter if LA is allowed in? It's not as if he can't watch it on tv! He is close with the key witnesses since he's family so why the big deal to the DT if he's in there or not? :waitasec:

Oh boy - ICA just walked in - dressed in a pinky grey very fitted shirt and dark pants, hair back in a pony tail - bangs parted. Chatty with Mr. Mason. Don't see Mr. Baez today yet. All Rise.

Hey, yeah - I haven't seen JB yet either! :waitasec:

The courtroom looks kind of empty.

*flicks sleep from eyes*

Gooooood Tuesday Trial Morn' Everyone!

From the joking, I'm guessing Mason and His Honor have done trials together before?

  • #76
I'm already pizzed at ica laughing.
How dare she? :maddening:

Oh yeah- there she is --HAPPY when HER rights are mentioned
See? I'm the most important one!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

.

I'm sorry but this is just crazy as all get out ... Lee can go home (or anywhere) and watch this on TV/Internet.

  • #78
Is there a reason why the defense does not want Lee's depo in? I did not read his depo

They don't want him sitting in the courtroom before he testifies. This isn't about the depo.

  • #79
They are wanting Lee in. State has No objections, but Defense does!

  • #80
With all due respect, the line should be drawn after people who were accused of improper acts by the defendent? I swear sometimes it seems like ICA has more rights than anyone else.
