JB asks why YM turns to the Jury. He is taught to do that. Part of his training is in how to speak to a jury. He feels it is appropriate to look at them and speak to them. Asked if he did that during cross and he said he is now.
On the 16th ZG is the suspect, not ICA. After verifying no ZG lives at Sawgrass, child missing for 30 days and after learning car had odor, after verifying ICA is lying about working at Universal and JMH hasn't worked there since 2002, after finding out no Juliette worked there, after finding out ZG never worked at Universal. He agreed despite all this, ICA was not a suspect. JB told him to look at the Jury and tell them - objection sustained.
Can you tell this Jury at that point ICA was not a suspect. YM says of what? He said she had obviously lied but she was insistent that ZG had her. He did not know what to think of ICA at that point.
Did you not suspect ICA at this point of some kind of fowl play at this point? He suspected her of something, but she denied all of it. He can't say now what he felt at that time. They still wanted to get more information. If they didn't believe ZG existed, they wouldn't have shown her pictures of ZGs.
Isn't a missing person case akin to a murder investigation without a body? It could be, but not in all instances. (No impeachment there from his Dick Tracy statements!)
He was not doing a murder investigation at that point.
