Ugg! I love Bones and Gerus, but every time I hear "placenta " I cringe. Guess they might as well be used for something!

  • #144
No problems with Bones alerting to food sources of any kind?

No M'am.

What a powerful image of a strong woman that LDB portrays, particularly in her two toned outfit. I am so in awe of her.

I know other's have observed Casey reading/using what seems to be a white apple laptop. I know I am not crazy...I also notice Baez looking over at it from time to time and laughing. I am going to assume that the are reading one of the news medias blogs. I wonder if the news media can track that laptop down to see if true that they are using it in the court room because for some reason I thought that Casey was not allowed to use any type of computer/cell phone/other electronic devices. I may be wrong and over analyzing though.. Hmm...I really wonder though...:waitasec:

Is it routine for an inmate to be allowed a laptop or cell phone while in court???

ICA hard at work (or hardly working) & JB's first objection of the day...

Thank you so much for the screen shots. This answers my questions about whether or not KC is using the laptop. I can see from these that it is just camera angle that makes it appear she is using it. It is actually in front of JB only moved at an angle to allow him to see the monitor as well. She does appear to read it now and then but the keyboard is facing JB. Looks like she does have a pile of paper in front of her but that too could be part of JB's mess. I think our camera view has been thwarted.

JB & ICA haven't looked up from HER COMPUTER for almost 10 minutes now. Either they are surfing the net or playing online POKER. Maybe she is taking an online Law Class. Ah, she looked up for a second...neither is listening to one word of this Deputy, now

Its gonna be like yesterday. If they dont go through bones with a fine tooth comb, Jb might score some points when its his turn. My husband is in the military and they use dogs to search for ieds when they patrol. He told me once they had a dog and he was awful. They had a lot of close calls. He asked for another dog and he was way better. moo

LDB: What sort of distractions have you used in training Bones? (to train him not to hit on items you DON'T want him to hit on)

KB lists items.

LBD: Was Bones trained with other dogs? Multiple dogs?

KB: Yes.

LBD: Have you had a problem with Bones alerting to food of any kind?

No.

LBD: Next training session?

KB: Advanced Land in 2009

LBD: Where held?

KB: Various locations, held by a master trainer...

I heard last night there was a higher court case about this kind of evidence. And all this foundation and extensive info about training is being offered to avoid reversal on appeal. It was ruled (and the case was mentioned by JB yesterday) that a jury depending on this kind of evidence without knowing the qualifications and history of the dog is reversible error. I believe it was a FL supreme court opinion that happened earlier this year. moo

Yeah, I posed earlier in the thread a short article regarding the FL Supreme Court Action.

If I was testifying I think I would KNOW this information before I was questioned...
No that's not what she said. I was asking.

  • #153
KB seems to be getting more comfortable now and has begun looking to jury as she answers :)

ETA: well, she did for a few q's but now isn't again...

  • #154
Are they reading here???

  • #155
What was required of Bones in that training period?

KB: Source was put in tree for dogs to find.

LBD: What is final source alert?

KB: Sitting.

LBD: And what does the dog do when the source is in a tree.

KB: He will sit directly below the source, on the ground.

please remember to keep posts on topic: what is going on in the courtroom. :-)

Wow! Bones is pretty smart!

If he detects human remains in a tree, or somewhere above him, he will try to locate it on the ground. If he keeps sniffing up - He looks up, to indicate the smell is above him!

ICA and JB give odd quick little smirks from whatever they are watching or reading so it can't be the record of the testimony they are hearing right now.

Might as well get this over with -

Good Morning ICA/Baez - Buckle up cause LDB is in the house ....:seeya:
