Bock: There are other considerations in this picture.
Ashton: If you would just direct your consideration to my question.

lol

I understand what JA is getting at, and I agree with him that the body was there for a long time, but he is being very narrow about these trees & plants. There really are a ton of reasons why plants will give up leaves, and it is possible for variances to occur, and situations where leaf debris would pile up in 2 weeks (and feature varying colors).

How come the prosecution never put on a botanist? I don't see Ashton make much headway with this witness altho she doesn't look very believable to me.

  • #843
She seems to be getting more evasive and combative.
And she started out to be the best defense witness so far, then like all the witnesses before her, JA dismantles her testimony bit by bit, IMO. We'll see if the defense can rehab her.

  • #844
she likes to add in her tidbits of comments when being asked a SIMPLE QUESTION

  • #845
Dr. Bock's manner of speaking reminds me of Chance the gardener in the movie "Being There".

  • #846
Dr. Bock now claimed that the green leaves on the brown leaves is because one of the trees is releasing green leaves because of some lacking chemical. Even the trees are trying to frame KC.

#CaseyAnthony With skull photo up, Casey turns and rest her chin on her fist, eyes closed. George and Cindy are looking down too

Deep leaf litter from 2 weeks? Alrighty then, Dr. Bock.

  • #849
At that rate of leaf litter accumulation, I'm surprised the leaf piles aren't above people's heads.

  • #850
...she's not so sweet anymore.

  • #851
I wonder if the defense team has completely forgotten that these jurors live in Florida and more than likely understand the vegetation down there? :waitasec:

  • #852
Dr. Bock seems to be trying to avoid answers she knows will hurt the defense rather than answering all questions directly.

  • #853
ICA doing her best, "Oh I just can't bear to look at those photo's."

  • #854
Bock says some of the vegetation around skull could have come from fallen leaves. #CaseyAnthony -jfell

JA asks do you see the leaves up to the area of just below the eye level... No that could be humus ..like decomposed leaves ... so if I understand this in 2 weeks in winter plants grew and leaves decomposed and covered half the skull? things move fast in FL

  • #856
Dr Bock may come across as sweet and grandmotherly but she seems to have an agenda to fight for the killer for some strange reason. Was she promised something for her testimony?
bbm
It's what I classify as cantankerous...just like my dear Mom...just can't imagine being wrong about anything as it might be an indication of a failing mind...and will even fib when she has to...

Oh please! Roots grow there in 2 weeks in December. I lived in FL, this is not possible IMO

Well, the plants growing there were heavily vined and lots of air potato plants. They can grow 8" per DAY and their roots grow equally as fast. But, even so, I don't think that leaf litter could accumulate in two weeks or even close.

Defense expert won't answer how inches of leaf litter could have collected in just two weeks [via Twitter]

  • #859
Now she is trying to avoid answering yes or no and wants to go off on her own thought.

I am glad to hear that JA is using a patient voice today. IMHO. It's important to appear calm steady and sure in front of the jury IMHO.
