If everyone is telling you, "Go find our baby. She's been kidnapped." You would be getting all the info you could to find the kidnappers and rescue the baby.

Anything else would be secondary. As soon as they waded through all her lies, they went back to the smell. Now, they had a reason to believe it might be relevant to the issue before them.

The context was, the police were at the Anthony house. Several officers did testify that they smelled nothing about the car.
