2025 Hurricane and Tropical Weather

Two of my daughters friends live in Wilmington NC & one is on Charleston, SC. I’ve been watching it closely. All of them are marine scientists so have great respect for storms.
Wilmington is my home and Charleston has always been my second home. Hope everything is good with them.

I'm glad the storm is expected to make a right turn and not make landfall, but I realize things can change. We are in central NC, which got slammed by Chantal in early July. Chantal was a tropical depression by the time it got to this area but it moved slowly and dumped a lot of rain that caused flash flooding.

From Wikipedia Tropical Storm Chantal (2025) - Wikipedia:
Chantal produced tropical storm force-winds and gusts in northeastern South Carolina as it made landfall. Chantal produced heavy rainfall as it slowly moved into North Carolina, exceeding 10 inches (250 mm) in Alamance, Chatham, and Orange counties. Significant flash flooding took place across central North Carolina late on July 6.

The models here are again are all of a flutter, the European one pushes the remnants to the north, the met office one has it directly over us, it'll be the end of the week, we'll see, the remnants of Gabrielle gave some severe flooding in Spain.

Today some of the very thin outer bands breezed thru Sarasota. (Gray dot on the left).

My aunt and uncle in Sebastian said they had a light breeze also. (Gray dot on the right)

Their temperature was cooler at 80 deg. and ours was 88 deg.
