7/23/2010 Lisa and Hank Croslin Arrested

  • #181
Thank you Bluesky for responding. I don't believe that the law applies here - I was thinking that Lisa may have (incorrectly) thought that the law would apply. I totally agree that these are not law abiding citizens and I didn't understand why on earth this "marriage" took place. I was reaching for some reason that these people made the decision to allow their daughter to marry. I am still amazed that everyone just keeps getting arrested and yet, no Haleigh.

I thought with YO, you couldn't be trafficking. I thought that was the reason why she didn't qualify. Maybe I'm misremembering....is that even a real word?
Anyways, I wonder how long Lisa and Hank will be in jail. If it's a VOP, they don't qualify for bail/bond. Which one is it? I can never remember.
And would Hank be considered a habitual? This isn't his first charge on drugs, but because it was prescription pills, is it the same thing? One's an illicit substance and one is legal, even though it wasn't obtained legally.
I'm thinking out loud and most of these cases are running together. OMG my dog is barking. My neighbors are going to kill me. I'll be the next case on here because my hound dog is having a hairy conniption and they will band together with pitch forks and fiery...things. Words escape me.

BBM

If Misty is unable to qualify as a youth offender because she was drug trafficking, then her attorney, Mr. Fields, needs to step up to the plate and defend his client who claims LE entrapped her into distributing pills to THEM ONLY. Misty said the UC cop contacted her on several occasions to find pills for them, so if Fields can prove Misty wasn’t selling drugs to anyone else and he has her phone records and other information he needs to prove Misty’s allegations are true, he can possibly build a strong case against LE and ultimately have her drug trafficking charges dropped. This IMO is what Fields should be busy doing on behalf of his client, disputing these charges and I suspect the reason he is beating around the bush is because he doesn’t have the strength of character and courage that's required and therefore he is only interested in avoiding a confrontation with LE in court. This is where he needs to focus his attention and if he doesn't want to accept this challenge, he should do Misty a favor and resign. JMO

I dont think the Croslins were picked up for anything other than they were trying to buy drugs and they got caught, and they are so screwed because they are on probation. I wonder if Tommy and his Dad are in GP together? That has to be a special bonding time!

BBM

You mean something like running into dad in the jailhouse diner and saying, "Well, fancy meeting you here. Let's have lunch." Something like that? Maybe they could invite Ron to join them.

I heard TJ Hart say on the radio he was told by someone in LE (or close to LE) that Lisa and Hank were caught in a sting operation - they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Nothing more. They were arrested with another man. Talk about bad timing for H&L and great timing for LE. :cow:

The other thing I recall about this case is LE stating they want to go back 30 hours. That brings it to about 9:00pm Sunday night..

I have a hard time with them going backwards because Haleigh was in school, they say, so why so important to go back alll those hours unless they are looking for motive for murder. I know we have been lied to about ron, misty's and the children's whereabouts for Sunday night...imo.
I guess they're going back to Sunday night for the same reasons we have here, to establish everyone's whereabouts and state of mind in the hours leading up to Haleigh's disappearance.

So, it is like a family reunion at PCSO.... (sorry couldn't resist :))

I wonder if LE is going to drill HCsr and LC about what they know about HaLeigh... hopefully they are out before the hearings, trials, and sentancing starts, otherwise how will they fill in Misty and Tommy.

I am not surprised at all. It was only a matter of time before they ended up in jail too. The smartest one out of all the Croslins seems to be Timmy. (oh how sad)

One would think that if your family is in the National spotlight, that you would try to do the right thing, and stay out of trouble. I am not feeling bad for them, b/c in all honesty the unemployement paychecks they have been receiving have been going to buy and ingest drugs. MY TAX DOLLARS are paying for their habbit. They cry they don't have food, or money for gas to go see their children in jail....but they have the money to support their drug habbit.... it is very very sad. No wonder the Tommy and Misty can't tell the truth, sell drugs, and are addicts themselves, look who they had to learn examples from.....

and of course JMO ;)

so, if there's a need for redaction, there must be something of interest on them, afterall.

AGREE!
I am of the opinion that if Ron is made to feel like his tapes are not going to be released (because they haven't been)..then maybe he will get comfortable and say something he knows (if he knows something of course- and I find it quite strange that he would marry and keep around Misty, who wasn't giving up ANY info.-Remember on Nancy Grace he said they haven't really talked about it!!!!!!!!!!!! I was like WHHHHAAAAATTTT????!!!!)
OR
I had been thinking that since all the stuff with CA was out in the news...he just wasn't making ANY calls to get out there. Hmm. I dunno.

Sorry for my O/T post. I guess I am not too surprised that they are in trouble with drugs...sigh BUT I would like to say that I hope the best at them getting clean during their stay and staying that way upon their release.
I guess people turn to drugs due to an emptiness and it has to feel pretty empty with 2/3s of your children in jail. Hank and his injuries, I take into account the pain of healing... I doubt he can get a painkiller legally anywhere! I really try to not judge people, and I have witnessed how powerful a drug can take over someone. JMO.

Absolutely, I agree with you. I think also, Fields isn't receiving payment for his....services (?) and I'm sure he has other paying clients. And, he has to work with these cops; he may not want to ruffle too many feathers. Maybe he's busy filing motions and taking depositions and making a huge scene down there, but it certainly isn't evident to the public. IMO, he bit off more then he could chew.

Well, now Lisa and Hank, Sr. will be in for the duration of their probation if it works like it does here.

It just might help them. Lessons never learned and all of that. Wonder where they got the money to purchase cocaine with?

OMG!!!! No, I don't think it will be a lesson learned. Lets see, no money for gas, no money for food, no money for the phone, no house, a pot to pizz in or a window to throw it out of. I am shocked, but know I shouldn't be that they would be buying nose candy. They are all stupid, they know/knew they were being watched. I hope all of them end up in general pop & get the 🤬🤬🤬🤬 beat out them twice over.

Misty's Parents Jailed On Drug Charges
Couple's Son, Daughter Also Arrested On Drug Charges Earlier This Year

POSTED: Monday, July 26, 2010

PALATKA, Fla. -- The parents of Misty Cummings and Hank Croslin Jr. have been seen on videotape visiting their children in the Jail. Friday night, Hank Croslin Sr. and Lisa Croslin were arrested, each on one count of purchasing cocaine and parole violations.

PC deputies said the two were among 15 people arrested during a neighborhood drug sting. According to the arrest reports, Lisa and Hank Sr. Croslin went to a known drug house and Hank Sr. went inside an made a purchase. Deputies said they were stopped about a block away and arrested.

The case is prominent because Misty was briefly married to Ronald Cummings and she was the last person to see Haleigh Cummings before she disappeared in February 2009.

Channel 4's Tarik Minor is in PC learning more about the charges and will have a full report on the local station beginning at 5 p.m.

The parents of Misty Croslin were arrested in a crack-cocaine buy bust.

Croslin Sr., 41, and Lisa Croslin, 40, were charged with purchasing crack and tampering with evidence because they tried to throw the drug away after they were apprehended, said Assistant Chief Griffith.

Griffith said agents posing as drug sellers in the 900 block of Bronson Street in Palatka sold the drug at about 8 p.m. to a couple in a gold four-door car. When the car was stopped, the Croslins were inside. Six people were arrested in the bust that is a routine method for police to conduct.

Misty Croslin's parents just arrested! With plea deals looming for both Ronald Cummings, and allegedly Misty Croslin, what does latest arrest mean for the investigation into the disappearance of Haleigh Cummings?

Nancy Grace has the latest at 8 & 10 PM E.T. on HLN![/

Please wait until Show-Time before discussion!
Thank You!

I have known addicts in my real life and in my teaching life and have great sympathy. I don't know how long you have followed this case, but sometimes, a little humor goes a long way to take the sting out of the pain we all feel for Haleigh. I also think some of us are just very frustrated that no one can tell a true story and be held accountable for Haleigh. Then you add another layer of drug arrests and it gets might disheartening. I was rooting for Hank to get the info from Misty and so were many others. It is a sad case filled with sad circumstances for generations of individuals. All JMVHO.

Again, the main "Victim" is Haleigh Cummings. I am in no way defending Hank Sr. and Lisa's drug problems.

However, I don't like to judge or kick someone that is already down. Hank Sr. and Lisa Croslin are victims of their own abuse and drug addiction. Addiction is a "sickness" these two have been through so much the past 18 months due to their children, that even if they were trying to get cleaned up it would of been real struggle for them. They have lost everything and have two children that may be involved in the "Murder of a 5 yr old child, Haleigh Cummings". As a parent that is not an addict this would be something very very hard to deal with. Hank and Lisa have problems with drugs, this is no secret especially for Lisa, so yes I can see them going to get a $20.00 bag of "Crack" to try and cover up the pain they are going through. Not just emotionally, but for Hank Sr. physically as well. We have heard how he is in so much pain and in need of medical but has no insurance, people will do desperate things when they feel they are in diar need and IMO that is what happen here. We can not blame Hank Sr. nor Lisa for what happen to Haleigh, they were not around when she went missing. Hank was in the hospital, and Lisa was by his side. I know we all want the same thing and that is for Haleigh to be found, but IMO we should have a little compassion for these parents. Yes, they are not parents of the year and have problems, but they are not to blame for Haleigh...Ronald and Misty are for starters IMO, that is who we should be disgusted with. I pray that Hank Sr. and Lisa get help, they obviously need it and it is sad to kick someone down that is already down. I pray for them as I would pray for anyone in their situation. They didn't ask for this, just like Haleigh didn't ask to be brought into this world and be left in the care of Ronald and Misty.

Alcohol addiction, cocaine addiction, methamphetamine addiction, or even heroin addiction, the pattern is the same:

The person tries to escape some physical or emotional pain by taking drugs.

This could be a physical or emotional pain, or the discomfort of boredom, peer pressure, lack of social skills.

The person finds that the drugs offer temporary relief, so continues to abuse them.

When the person uses the drugs it seems to handle their immediate problem. People who are addicted will find themselves doing things they would never have contemplated before.

The addict commits misdeeds against family, friends, and themselves to satisfy unrelenting cravings. These misdeeds include lying, stealing, cheating, anything to get the drugs to satisfy the drug cravings.Because of these misdeeds, The person is now entrapped in full blown drug addiction. Waiting won’t help a drug addict. No matter what they say, if they haven’t quit using drugs by now, they won’t, without help.

Not only will Hank Sr. not be able to get any meds for his injuries, he can't afford to see a Dr. or even afford the med's. He has no insurance. His injuries seemed pretty severe IMO. Having pin's in his legs, well I would imagine this is very very painful.

It is mentioned in this old interview below that Misty's parents are receiving death threats, Hank Sr. can't find work, people blamed them for what ever happen to Haleigh, says the whole world condemns them, and they live in a small room in a boarding house, living day by day, feel that Misty nor Tommy didn't hurt Haleigh but may know what may of happen to her. In the interview you can see Lisa's eyes are sooo dilated.

I recall in some of the earlier jail visit videos that were released Hank Sr. Hank appeared to be really stressed with their situation, he mentioned the problems with money, food, no money for gas, no money for pay-tel, having to live in a shelter, his health (pain), not having insurance, needing surgery, not being able to find a job, Lisa wanting to kill herself, and the stress of having his kids in jail and not being able to help in anyway. I wonder if the reason we have not seen any more video is because both Hank Sr. and Lisa are on probation and maybe they can't visit with Misty and Tommy? This two is probably stressing them out to the max. At least in jail they will have medical, food, shelter and maybe even get to visit with Tommy since he is in PC.

I do wonder if they wanted to get caught so they could go to jail, get free medical, dental, food, shelter, and serve their time and get it over with. I also recall Hank Sr. saying he didn't have the money to pay on Lisa's case.

Sigh. I don't understand....playing devil's advocate here.

Let's say, Hank said "hey Lisa, can you drive me to John's house so I can pick up a (insert item here)" and Lisa says yes. Hank walks in, buys crack or cocaine, gets in the car and says "he said he can't find (insert item here) and he'll call me when he can". Now, Lisa has no idea he purchased the crack/cocaine. Why was she arrested for the purchase if no money between her and the dealer was exchanged?
Like I said, I'm playing devil's advocate. She very well may have known, and planned, to buy the drugs...I don't know, I wasn't there.

"misrembering" I love that word!!!! I seem to forget so many things anymore. So thank you for the new word 'I must have misrembered' wheeeeeee.

Seeing Tim going jail window to jail window is another funny statement. I guess Im on a down day again.
Thanks to both of you for a little humor.
