#NEW: This morning the jury was shown videos of Richard Allen inside Westville Correctional Facility. The screen was turned almost entirely away from the public, though, for “several people’s privacy,” according to the defense.

The media took as many notes as possible on jury reaction.

BBM - trials are supposed to be public. What is with this hiding exhibits from the public gallery?

So RA’s wild hissy fits were not shown to everyone, but naked brutalized dead children are OK.
I don’t get it and I don’t like it- neither should have been shown to the public or press - just the jury- in my opinion

From AB’s live last night, she was saying JG didn’t like how the subpoena was only sent to the agent 2-3 weeks ago. So basically, the defense being ill-prepared shouldn’t put an extra burden on the court or something.

I don't think they made an unreasonable motion to have him appear remotely considering the circumstances. Did she provide a written reasoning do you know? Ty in advance. (edited for spelling by me).

I have to disagree. It absolutely proves RA is bridge guy especially with the video Libby took.
I also agree. Just gives a glimpse of where a jury might be when all is said and done. RA was there along with other people but prosecution did not convince me he was the only one who could have committed the crime unequivocably.

Around here it’s common for graphic images just to be shown to the jury- especially those involving children - in my experience

Perhaps they don't want to show the courtroom the conditions he was actually held in? I don't believe for a second this has to do with preserving his dignity at all. MOO. This is a total lack of transparency again imo.

We can certainly agree to disagree - thank you for the engaging discussion.

Her decision here feels questionable but I am not a lawyer.

Yes because it was also noted that they had the information since August. So basically you had info since August and when did you subpoena him and it was October.

Don’t want everyone to see RA eating poop or sporking himself, I guess. I don’t quite follow how showing the victims deceased and naked is okay but RA’s “psychosis” is a step too far.

Quick note...at the end of Friday, Judge Gull did give permission for inmate Jesse James to be transported to testify.

The Murder Sheet said the DT said that Jesse James was very important to them, more so than some of the other transport requests that they had filed.
Any idea what this inmate may testify to?

No idea about a written reasoning. It was handled during session yesterday.

I can understand not wanting to give a bunch of leeway for something that seems like it ultimately falls on the defense for not being more prepared in a timelier manner. If that’s the case, everyone will just submit late subpoenas to try and get their witnesses to appear remotely.

I do wonder if this is something they actually should have been aware of before August, but were too busy chasing down odinists to have discovered before then.

I think the judge should have allowed cameras but to only release after the verdict or something. There will be a few complaints MOO

Fundraiser?
I did it! Is that admissible?
@steeltowngirl
We would start an online fundraiser ;) for you, but those pesky platform's Terms of Service prohibit raising funds for
8.10. the legal defense of financial and violent crimes.

…or was advised to up the antics by his attorneys. Must not forget that being noted by both guards & Dr. Wala concerning when his behavior would increase. I hope little things like that don’t get lost in the distractions being put up by his team.

JMO
The testimony coming in sounds like the professionals responsible for diagnosing and providing psych care determined that he was genuinely experiencing psychosis. The guards and Wala to some extent have some motive to view things through the prosecution’s lens - and Wengler only went by Wala’s reports.

if only the defence had a witness who could clarify where his phone went ...
The defense has no burden to prove or clarify anything. The police should have done their job better. IMO

i have often thought possibly an ineffective counsel appeal to be their core strategy.
A lawyer never has a strategy of being ineffective.

Yeah but apparently the prosecution did not object. So what's her issue? MOO
