@localguydonnie

I’m also learning from the media pool that most of the reserved media seats have been moved to the back of the courtroom. Previously, we were given the full row directly behind the defense. There’s still a few reserved seats in the second row, but most of media has been moved further away.

Basically, we’ve gone from this view to this view. And it’s already difficult enough to hear witnesses while sitting in the front row.

If the State's rebuttal is concise, they could end today too. We could have a verdict by the end of the week, perhaps. Good.

I wonder if there are any rules about deliberations on Sundays. I understand not having court on Sunday, but if the jury gets the case later this week and since they are sequestered already, I wonder if they could deliberate on Sunday as well if they need to.

ZERO cell phone extraction training in the past FIFTEEN YEARS. That goes back to the iPhone 3G.

ETA extraction
She didn’t extract it. She read the States extractions. I’m pleased with her assessment of the state’s extraction and irritated that the LE never thought to check for water damage or dirt. IMO.

I guess the Defense didn't need three weeks after all.

Breaking: The defense has rested its case in the #Delphi murders trial. The state will call a few more witnesses for the jury to hear before the jury receives instructions for its deliberations.

Only if you rank a phone known to be malfunctioning even before it went through a creek and a former FBI now working as a PI's testimony above all the forensic evidence of the crime scene and the bodies. There's a big difference in postmortem changes between someone deceased for nearly a day versus thirteen or fourteen hours. There's no evidence the girls moved after they were killed there, in the early afternoon. Their bodies, the blood evidence, and the lack of evidence of them being removed or placed at the scene all adds up to one thing. They died there. And they died there not long after they were walked down the hill by a man holding them at gunpoint.

Did we get a clarification on time of death other than sometime after they went down the hill to when they were found? I didn’t think we had any actual evidence on TOD yet? Ty in advance.

What is with that?? Harder for the reporters to hear the testimony.

Idk, the one basic burning question was never even breached. If RA wasn't at the trails after 1:30, where was he? Why leave that hanging for the jury, give them something right? He went to the store, another park since it was such a nice day to have off in the middle of Winter, He went home and fell asleep. But he'd have to testify to that huh, or KA would have to, IMO, lie and say he called her from wherever and she didn't do that nor did RA's Mom or daughter.

So still no alibi, only confessions of guilt to his family, his doctor and his original statements to DD. RA is still on that bridge, down the hill and at the crime scene, by his own words. I believe him AJMO
Use of alibi defense was precluded long ago; see:

The medical examiner stated forty one hours before autopsy, I believe. Which is consistent with when the phone ceased to move and when the girls were discovered to be unable to be found or contacted by their loved ones. They were autopsied the morning of the fifteenth.

I would think Google searches aren't exactly an expert or specialist and am not sure why any would be admissible in this trial.

That was odd.

Not hearsay?

This trial is twisting me melon.

I feel like the D has essentially ceded the case and shifting to appeals mode.

But then, after waking up this morning, nothing will surprise me.
