According to Ron's Lawyer Misty Never Returned This Weekend.

I haven't been able to follow this case as closely as most here. When Misty left town, was that pretty soon after the woman dropped the letter off at the newspaper? Could she have become more alarmed about something she thought might be in it?

Or did she leave before the letter?

Honestly? No, just going by LE's previous public statements, they really do think the onus of the crime lies with her. As a result she is beating feet. Based on his lawyers statement about Misty not returning, I'm betting if anything Ron is the one working with LE at this point.

Hi Vegas Bride....Misty left before the letter was dropped off to the journalist in St Augustine. You are not alone in wondering if the letter is related to Misty little vacation. Quite honestly police have not drawn any correlation. Personally I think police know where Misty is. I don't know how the person that they have determined to hold the key to Haleigh's disappearance could disappear from LE. If they sincerely thought that Misty was the key seems like they would know exactly where she is.

Unless they are just publicly stating that Misty is the key to take our eyes off them and their lack of suspects. Just my opinion of course.

No, I don't believe Ronald is about to be arrested. I don't know about Misty working with LE tho.

I still think it is possible she went into a private mental health facility for the time being to protect her from her own family and to give her a break from the intense scrutiny of the nation. It would be a wise move on her attorney's part if he talked her into something like this, imo. No one can release information on her and no one can get to her.

Who of Misty's friends would have the finances to take Misty out of town for this long? I'm not by any means knocking anyone's financial situation, but from what I've seen, none of these people seem to be well off enough to hit the road for an extended amount of time. What if LE is behind this "vacation" and know exactly where Misty is, who she is with, heck, maybe an undercover female officer is with them. Maybe Misty is talking via cell phone and LE is just biding their time to see what RC or any other player in this case has to say to Misty, maybe worried that since she is "out of the picture" she will sing? I know this is far fetched and please don't throw rotten veggies at me, I'm simply trying to come up with any scenario that might make us all think and try and come up with something that makes sense??? I'm driving myself crazy, lol.

Of course I do. Let's hope he is anyway. It may serve many purposes to have her in a mental health facility.

Truth is I don't think she would need a whole lot of money to get far and I know it is rumored that she is in Tampa but I am not sure if we have any confirmation of that. Let's think positive for a change and go with maybe they are looking for jobs and thinking of relocating. There can't be much opportunity in Satsuma so maybe they are thinking proactive and want to get JR out of that public environment. Just a thought.

Probably a stupid question, but if you commit a crime as a juvenile but are arrested when you're an adult, are you charged as an adult or a juvenile? (Ignoring that many juveniles get charged as adults, anyway) i.e. Misty was a juvenile when she was babysitting, but has since been emancipated...Does anyone know the general/typical answer to this? Not even necessarily how it relates to this case, but just in general?

It depends on the crime, the jurisdiction and the prosecutor. In Misty's case, it may not matter as she has emancipated herself by marrying.

She may well be somewhere safe, singing like a bird to LE, having worked out a plea deal for any criminal charges coming her way. This case always came down to who would talk first to get the deal. JMO. If she is finally talking, LE might want her out of the way so that 1) she can't tip anyone off; or 2) she can't change her mind; or 3) the person or persons she is talking about can't kill her.

I hope she's talking and not in the psych ward or detox.

Well maybe she didn't return this past weekend because she is on her way back today. I think Nancy's bombshell is another overblown dud, again. Put enough out there to rope everyone in to watch her show. JVM and Geraldo do the same thing. That's why I don't put much stock in their 'bombshells', they are usually duds

I have no doubt Misty was away because they knew Tommy was getting out of jail and Lisa was being arrested. Mrs. Sykes said the other day Ron and Misty were out of town.

I think her attorney is bright enough to think of it. The question becomes who exactly would be paying for it?

Her lawyer certainly isn't going to foot the bill for it. He's probably doubting he will see a dime for anything at this point. Between the polygraph tests with TM that she took without his knowlege and certainly against his advise and wishes, to her little disapearing act now he is probably holled up screaming at his office plants in frustration.

And remember, unlike KC Anthony, there is no real possible money tree of "licensing" photos etc to media for her lawyer to exploit for fees. Misty is not a parent or guardian, she has no legal right to use or manipulate anything of the sort.

Which brings us back to how exactly is she paying for her little trip? What did she and Ron have in available funds? (probably not much they were living in a tent while the MH was a crime scene). Have they or Ron recieved any payments for media interviews? (I do notice there was a new photo of Hayleigh making the media rounds last week). How much of what spousal funds there were went on a trip along with Misty?
