Aghhh. Four days at work and peep in is so wrong. No access (time mostly) to the TH's.

What is happening folks?

:giggle:

I used to like DD. But no more. Ain't nobody got time fo dat!

I just mentioned to my DH a couple of days ago that Dr. Drew seems much more hysterical lately. I think it is his "handlers" coaching this. They are going after the Nancy Grace, Jane Velez-Mitchell crowd. Too bad.

IIRC, I seem to remember reading somewhere that Dr. Drew is not a psychologist. He is an internist.

Having watched the interview a few times more....more sickening than it was the first time. What a conniving, cunning witch. One thing in our favor though is the fact that she's more stupid than she is smart.

The "Deal" with Troy she speaks of, is they met and bonded back in January 2013 (developed a rapport) And she made a deal with him that if she was convicted she would give him the first interview immediately following her Conviction (1st degree) If she was convicted of lesser charge she would do something else...

So time passes, now she is convicted, so she is sort of saying "I don't really want to do this, but a deal is a deal, I did say you can have the first interview right after my conviction so you better get down there fast if that's what happens"

And the rest is history!

Wouldn't it have been noble of him to say he was not interested or interrupt her when she spewed more venom at the Alexanders since he went ahead with the interview? I get that it was a coup for him and he will get mileage from this. Sometimes it is hard to do the right thing, and IMO he did not.

He sure does almost like in a panic if he thinks anyone is criticizing his field.

Dr Drew is a TV personality. JMO

The sheriff said it was arranged through appropriate channels so I don't think it's something he didn't know about.

I don't see it as a "priority," just something that was arranged through proper channels.

The sheriff is very accommodating to the media, and it's not like the judge had ever, in over four months, even shown a minor sense of urgency about anything.

I don't think any of it is that big of a deal. Inmates give interviews all the time.

ETA - apparently Judge Stevens DOES have an issue with this

Hello All~~

Ok I think Sheriff Joe probably allows easy access to media for 2 reasons:

1) 1st Admin right to free speech
2) Usually those exercising their 1st Admin rights give away information to convict them or dig their own grave ie CKJA's post verdict interview

I also think KN & JW probably put the kabash on CKJA's ability to run her lie hole to media for 1) she pizzed them off throw'n them under the bus & 2) stops her from doing any more damage after mitigation phase before sentencing phase! Basically protecting CKJA from herself & this should shore up & any questions of effective counsel cuz..

Really? Hasn't everyone involved in this trial went above & beyond to let everything in save graffiti from a restroom wall in as absolute facts not hearsay or allegedly.. so IMO I'll be sad not to see CKJA post DP interview with Troy but on the other hand I do not blame Sheriff Joe or Troy Hayden cuz CKJA is an adult AND SHE MADE the CALCULATED choice to call Troy (via 3way call btw??) to set up that interview.. KN & JW are a day late & dollar short in this motion IMO

Your right about her artwork. I'm not sure where receiving donations to her commissary account would fall. And how about donations for your legal appeals? It's an interesting question. Maybe one of our lawyers will weigh in.

Don't know if this has been mentioned before, but don't you think that's the reason the Alexander family has hired an Attorney and filed a 'Wrongful Death' civil lawsuit against her? To get all her money? If they win a civil indictment against her for the cause of death of their brother Travis, then they can place an injunction against ALL of her earnings, whether it be from art or anything else. That's what the Goldman's did with OJ Simpson, they couldn't touch his retirement earnings, but anything else the man earned went to them and the children he had with Brown.

The "prison industry". $$$ I heard about this a few years ago. Freaking scary. There was one story, I think from Texas, about how one judge was bribed by a private prison owner (I know I am getting the titles wrong) to send minors to some kind of detention facility/prison for rather minor, non-violent offenses. The judge got kick-backs from the prison owner.

Wow. I am shocked at what this country is coming to.

I'm one of those that's really in debt. I have been since my Mom's dementia got so bad I had to quit work. There are times when I'd welcome jail to pay my debts. Nobody would want anything from me, I'd be undisturbed and maybe I wouldn't have to cook and do laundry all the time! :floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

Oh no! I hope you are kidding.

I suspect today's "sealed hearing" was about the Convict's interview after the verdict. I did catch Beth Karas saying that the Maricopa Sheriff's Office's Public Information Officer (the head honcho) was seen leaving the courtroom. No doubt Judge Stephen's was interested in just how this little interview was allowed and was making sure such things did not happen in the future. That's my guess anyway.

My hinky hunch is that JSS will not allow the footage allowed in during the penalty phase. JA would just love to see herself on camera again and act like she's really running the show. Let's make her plea for not and let the family make the impact statement for the death penalty.

That'll really PO JA.

MOO

I hate hearing her speak as a victim of domestic violence in that interview! Please does she think people believe her.

No way a true abuse survivor who killed in self defense would be willing to plea to 2nd degree murder and go quietly to jail...
Nor do woman who are abused not tell because they want to stay good friends with their abuser. They don't tell because they are affaid of their abuser in most true abuse cases.

My favorite part of JA's interview was the part where she said she hadn't decided anything about her future. As IF she has one.

I saw an interview with Sheriff Joe the day after Jodi's interview. He said (basically)"

"Everyone here knows I have an open door policy (regarding media) If the media follows the correct procedure and the inmate wants to see them, then they can."

It sure didn't sound like this was an isolated case that anyone needs to get to the bottom of. Unless Judge Stevens has issued a gag order (which she hasn't) I don't think anything Jodi says comes under her purview.

Jodi has 1st Amendment rights, if she's following the rules and she wants to sink her own ship, why bother stopping her?

She has first amendment rights, but they are limited in time, place and manner by the jail. Sheriff "Joe" isn't the most reliable fellow in the world; there had to be some hoops to set up that interview. And Judge Stephens has an interest in making sure this trial is brought to a conclusion without Jodi throwing monkey wrenches in the works, like she did with that interview. I'd love to read the transcript of today's hearing.

Gently snipped by me.

...during her post-conviction interview, poor little thing mentioned how distasteful it is to look at TA's kin because they all look so much like Travis, which reminds her of all the abuse she suffered. :laughcry:

She makes it sound as if she was a prisoner in his home. No one in their right mind would continue in an abusive relationship when you live 1,000 miles apart and have no real connection to each other.
