True. Sadly no update from MPD to explain what, if anything has been discovered. One of the reporters mentioned the week after the JCD arrest that MPD was waiting for all the forensic testing to come back from the site. Not sure how long that would take but 5-6 weeks might be realistic estimate based on what we have seen on other cases. Given the reliance on foresic testing and CCTV I am still surprised we aren't seeing outside LE brought in to assist. We've asked this question so many times here but not sure why we're not seeing outside help? JCD is still in Mobile Metro Jail as of today. DNV vehicle has still not shown up on City of Mobile towing list as of Friday.

I also wonder if MPD is putting all its eggs in one basket if @otto theory of JCD arrest being crucial to DNV case is correct? The only visible sign of MPD activity in this case has been the <modsnip - full name>JDC property raid. I'm sure MPD has been conducting other searches etc. but I am still baffled at the absence of so many of the typical components of a missing cases that we see all the time.

I'm not sure why outside help hasn't been brought in, either. I've stated previously that anytime JDT asked about it, she has been told MPD has it under control. But, we can all see that's not the case.

I don't know if they will, at some point in the future, consider outside help - I would hope so but most LE agencies would have brought help in already - but I agree that it's crazy that they haven't.

What is an ordinary missing person scenario? What did the Chief see about this case early on that made it different?

I think an ordinary missing person's case, where a single woman in an isolated location is grabbed off the street, is typically a random attack with one suspect. When the victim's car and the victim disappear, and the suspect's car also leaves the scene of the abduction, it means two suspects. I think it means that this was more than a random kidnapping of a woman, more like an elimination of Danni.

I think it's important to keep in mind that without DW and Danni's forgotten phone, Danni might not have been reported missing. The story might be that Danni bought a new car and simply left town.

From what I've heard it was a homeless woman from one of the homeless camps in that area.

The Chief in his PC spoke about how unusual it is for someone to vanish into thin air. This statement had me confused because you would think a statement like this would then generate searching and on the ground activity by LE and we have seen none of that in this case other than the <modsnip - full name> JDC house raid in Theordore.

But LE has seen the CCTV at the Shell station and so must know at this point who was in Car 3 and whether DNV drove out of the Shell station on her own or whether someone else was driving her car. I still am thinking about DNV and Car 3 staying at the Shell for a prolonged period of time. As we have no information from LE I really don't think we can take any idea off the table to explain the time at the Shell that DNV spent with Car 3.

Yes, we were led to believe by MSM at the scene that person was held at <modsnip - full name> JDC house and not at another property. But if the MPD showed up with the armored vehicle and smoke bombs at 6 am and didn't leave until around 1pm what were they doing for all that time <modsnip - sleuthing property>? The press was kept way back from the search so it was hard to see if the warrant covered just <modsnip - full name>JDC property or any of the adjacent parcels.

This is against TOS, and continued posts of this nature should be reported to mods. Below is my guidance based on quickly reading up on the case. If any of these folks have been named a POI/suspect by LE or MSM please post a source for the information and report on it so a mod can provide updated guidance. Thank you.

It seems a property associated with JCD was searched on suspicion of possible link to DV's disappearance but no such link has been confirmed by LE/MSM. He has been arrested on charges unrelated to DV. No sleuthing of past history, no accusations or assumptions of involvement in DV's disappearance. Anyone is welcome to create a separate thread regarding the charges for which he was arrested; in that case he would be a named suspect and sleuthing would be within TOS on that thread.

The woman was held on JDT's brothers' property for 3.5 weeks. I think that police were collecting evidence at the <modsnip - property details> house and yard for the 7 hours they were there.

Hi Whiskers! On previous threads we had a VI who was allowed to introduce rumors and social media information, which led to many of the discussions that we all understand are usually outside of TOS. If we are going back to the normal WS rules, that's great and going forward we will be sure to stick to LE/MSM reporting. But I do ask on behalf of the posters that no one be given a time out for past posts since we were told the VI was allowed to introduce the "timeline" and relay thoughts and information from the family that everyone then discussed as if they were in MSM.

This does not change my opinion on what can be discussed. The search was pursued in relation to the DV investigation, so we can discuss what is reported about the search. JDC's charges don't relate to DV's disappearance. Therefore I think sleuthing things like property owners, property details, criminal history, etc. are not within TOS to discuss at this time.

Hi, LE clearly stated in their comments after the <modsnip - full name> house raid that there was a link between the property on Travis Road and DNV. They did not explain what the link was but it was clear that there was some link. Because of that statement from LE which was reported by the 3 Mobile TV stations we have been looking at the property. All my posts about the property have been deleted and I believe the posts to be within TOS based on LE statements. If you'd like I would be glad to forward you the videos with the interviews from the scene where LE spoke with the press. If you don't want the <modsnip - full name> property information on the thread then please set up another thread for JCD and we will move the property discussion there.

I have an investigator who works for me in my law practice and part of what he does is he basically sleuths contact information for businesses involved in disputes with our clients. Once he called a potential lead and planned to leave a voicemail but the person answered and he didn't want to say he was calling on behalf of our law firm or on behalf of our client so when they asked who was calling he blurted out "I'm calling as a private citizen." The whole office burst out laughing, who says that?

At this point I want to call MPD and ask for an update on the case as a private citizen interested in justice for Danniella. (I'm not really going to call but I keep thinking about it! LOL)
