Just an observation/question re: the down rear window. Could someone have rolled it down so they could push the car into the water? Put the car in neutral and push it down the ramp, for instance. I’m just curious. Thanks! jmo
Yes, and that is a likely scenario.

Looks to me from a preview I just saw that it's an on camera interview with JDT.
OK. Hope someone reports back here re interview.

The car dealer is the source of information that the GPS was disabled when the vehicle was at the Shell station. The link was posted way back in the beginning.
Oh man, otto. Glad you came back. Keep talking, please.

Yes, and that is a likely scenario.

It would serve the dual purpose of pushing the car with minimal fingerprints, and fill the car with water quicker. Creepy.

Family and friends of Danniella Vian react to discovery of her car, possible remains

Interview (Julie Thomas) at the link

“[SBM]

‘It’s just a numbing realization that she’s really gone. You know, as much as I knew, you know, that was just… it was numbing,’ said Julie Thomas, Danniella's daughter's grandmother.

[SBM]

Thomas has spent the last nine and a half months raising awareness about Danniella's case. ‘You know and that’s what you’ve been working for for so long and striving for and begging for and praying for. When you finally get that, it’s not closure.’

For Mobile Police, the discovery of Vian's car and her possible remains is a big break in what it's calling a homicide investigation.

Danniella was last seen the night of July 17th at a Shell gas station at Government and I-65. She purchased her blue Chevy Cruz that morning.

Police tell News 5 it will take several days, even weeks, before they get the results of the DNA test.”

ETA 2: Direct link to the entire interview (3’15”):

Just watched the video interview of JDT, which took place two-hours ago. Has anyone else watched it?. I am withholding my opinion.

Remember the MPD blog? That was so weird. They never posted anything useful. I think the idea is good, like how many departments use FB and Twitter now. But the point of the blog wasn’t clear to me.

Home

Just watched. JDT says community is asking for justice but she’s not. Her job is done which was to find Daniella and justice will be served either by man or by god. The interview concluded by showing a map of where she was last known to be (shell station) and where her car was found (bayou Sara) and reiterated the fact that the gps last pinged at the shell station, not bayou Sara.

The chief had better be at a PC telling us whether the GPS system had been physically messed with before going in the water tomorrow.

My thoughts on the interview and deleting social media are probably TOS violations.

Opinion - This was the most closemouthed LE force I have ever seen on a crime. I am glad they finally found her.

I really think the fact that Daniellas thread was pulled for so long was such a detriment. It really stopped the momentum and slowed the interest here on websleuths.

So glad to see some familiar names popping up here again for her.

BBE. Disagree. JDT encouraged and entertained FB posting when DNV was missing. Why isn't she still there for her now? Speaking for myself: watching and waiting.
That's fair. I've just never been in the position, so I'm not willing to pass judgment or make assumptions about the reaction. Too many times have I seen reactions be analyzed that ended up unwarranted. Granted, sometimes the analysis turns out to be accurate, but I'm no psychologist, so I try to refrain. JMO, definitely not looking down on anyone trying to read between the lines.

An interesting theory...that I hope is not true. I don’t even want to type it, but can’t stop thinking about it.

I seen someone I know today who knows several divers and many first responders who told me he knows of at least two other dive training exercises conducted in that location within the last 6 months. Now, I’m not that close with this person so I don’t know how reliable that is. BUT.

I wonder if she could have been kept somewhere and the people responsible thought they were close to getting caught, so they dumped her and her car more recently than 9 months ago. If the information above is true, plus given the fact that her paper “Pearl Motors” tag was still in tact. Of course LE knows the answer to that and would be able to tell.

Someone on here pointed out that it looked like the car had been sanded down. It does look that way, I just figured that’s what a car would look like if it had been underwater 9 months. I can’t find information on Google, lots of variables anyways. But adding to the above theory, if someone did have her, and wanted to make it look like the car had been under water longer, sanding the clear coat and paint away before submerging it would definitely make it rust faster.

Edit: after viewing the pictures again, it does appear to be just mud on the car’s exterior

Haven't caught up, but reporter commented damage came from removal of the car.

I'm not too sure how it works or what the criteria is but I wish we could get something like "Danniella Vian's vehicle found with body inside" or something in the top "announcements" bar on here. That would certainly grab some people's attention who used to follow this case but aren't aware of the updates. It's definitely not nationwide news that someone would just hear about unfortunately.

I think it’s much riskier to keep the body and the car around then dispose of it later where you could potentially be picked up on a surveillance camera. Not likely to me but crazier things have happened.

I think she went in the water that night she disappeared. Now whether accidental or purposeful is yet to be determined. I’m confident LE will do everything they can to determine that. The PC’s about the methodical way they were handling the removal of the car gave me hope they will find out what happened.

I want that too. Maybe they are waiting for a positive ID? But you are right they have confirmed it’s her car so that could be the headline.

^^ I'm right there with you Alethea. Better keep my dang mouth shut. I will say though I'm glad to see JDT is listed as "Danniella's Daughter's Grandmother". No more of this "mother in law" nonsense that she's been pushing for the last 9 months.

Ohhh it's going to take me a minute to find- if I can find it at all, maybe someone else knows where the info is off the top of their head- but I'm pretty sure we know, via Pearl Motors, how often the GPS pinged. I think it's fairly often, I am almost certain that it was taken off at the Shell station.

ETA: I found a comment I left back in January that I still agree with- my company has dump trucks that all have gps trackers on them. Regardless of how often they ping, we are alerted immediately if one is unplugged and where the vehicle was when it was unplugged. That could be how they know it was unplugged at the Shell station
