I think it’s much riskier to keep the body and the car around then dispose of it later where you could potentially be picked up on a surveillance camera. Not likely to me but crazier things have happened.

I think she went in the water that night she disappeared. Now whether accidental or purposeful is yet to be determined. I’m confident LE will do everything they can to determine that. The PC’s about the methodical way they were handling the removal of the car gave me hope they will find out what happened.

I meant keeping her alive against her will somewhere. But I too believe she went in the water the night she disappeared though, but just trying to think outside the box.

It’s just especially strange to me the fact she ended up at THAT launch of all places - there’s a reason for that. Somebody had to be very familiar with the area, I’ve lived here my whole life and would have never thought it was that deep there. So many bodies of water in Mobile and Saraland and access to water. A public boat launch in a neighborhood just seems so risky to me when there are so many other bodies of water. There’s a house RIGHT there at that launch. With surveillance signs posted throughout their yard. (I was there yesterday, and only could see one Arlo brand camera above the front door. But hoping they have others - no I didn’t trespass, was looking from the street as we loaded the boat up.) I feel like this location was picked for a reason. & I do not believe this was an accident.

Remember the MPD blog? That was so weird. They never posted anything useful. I think the idea is good, like how many departments use FB and Twitter now. But the point of the blog wasn’t clear to me.
I think the MPD blog was a weak concession to the public that was begging for information. It was intended for the public to post tips about DNV's disappearance. It fell flat if I remember correctly.

That's fair. I've just never been in the position, so I'm not willing to pass judgment or make assumptions about the reaction. Too many times have I seen reactions be analyzed that ended up unwarranted. Granted, sometimes the analysis turns out to be accurate, but I'm no psychologist, so I try to refrain. JMO, definitely not looking down on anyone trying to read between the lines.
Good point, and thanks for raising it. You've helped me see this from both sides. Hope the family finds peace now.

Oh man, otto. Glad you came back. Keep talking, please.

Couldn't stay away! I'm very curious how this is going to play out now that there is a body.

I've always believed that Danniella was murdered in relation to custody of her child. At the time of her disappearance, there was a strong suggestion that she was on a mad drug search and caused her own demise. Blood tests or hair analysis should sort that out fairly quickly. If drug abuse can be put to rest, then those who strongly pushed the drug theory can be more carefully scrutinized.

Indeed, I continue to have concerns about the behavior and statements of individuals close to DNV immediately after her disappearance.

So it’s a public boat launch and not just for residents of that community?

Agreed on that last paragraph. Her takers( I think two people did this) knew that launch and area. Didn't some "family" members live close to this this area ? The one that got in trouble with LE for holding his girlfriend captive ?.... It has been so long now to try and remember these details....moo

Bringing forward this comment by Vail from page 18 of this thread as it provides a good overview

Vail wrote:

If you like statement analysis, you will love this interview. Also thanks to John for doing it! I love his microexpressions - so telling.

Highlights (most of these previously clarified, but again According To JDT):

1. Danni and TT are not married.
2. Danni and TT are off and on.
3. Danni and TT were living together in her apartment (though he was in jail/rehab shortly before/during/after she disappeared)
4. C is living with JDT

Living Arrangement
Danni and TT have "always lived together either in their own place or with me (JDT)"
" I don't think she had any romantic interests, she was all about TT. They were truly in love, they just couldn't get their life together...I mean, she dated, obviously..."

TT's Drug Problem
"...and I'll just tell everyone right now, TT got out of the military and just started self-medicating for PTSD and that lead to heroin... and in that battle with heroin comes a relationship that is unstable."

JDT states Danniella was very steadfast about TT quitting heroin and telling him to stop it and "these people will not be around me." says her thing was "I'm going to bust them out. If they come around, I WILL rat on them."

This above quote is pretty heavy, and I hope JDT wasn't just paraphrasing for color, because Danniella really expressing that could have put her in danger.

Custody
C just "basically ended up here(with JDT)"
"...they both agreed that her(CC) time spent here(with JDT) was better for her"
"It just kinda worked out that way after she was about a year old" - speaking of C living with JDT

So was this a legal agreement?

"Well...not until-not until..hmm..ahhh...well, it was actually setup right before she went missing. Um. The situation...you know, with TT back and forth in jail, y'know because he was in vet court...if he fails his drug test, he goes back to jail. And that's actually where he was when she went missing...so...(silence) I'm sorry, repeat the question?"

They had a meeting where Danniella had talked to Cora's lawyer. Note that there is no mention of Danniella having a lawyer.

"The court date when we were supposed to get full custody...um, was the Tuesday after she went missing." (It is unclear if JDT means she and her husband, or she and TT when using "we")

Timeline
JDT says Danniella got her car and went home and slept until about 5pm. She then went to the mall (this would be the mall that PF Changs is in). John stops her at this point to talk about Danniella's recent birth.

Recent Birth
JDT does not believe Danni just took off or was running away or had any emotional issues related to the birth. She does not say anything about the father or the actual event, just how Danni dealt with it well.

Danni's parents
Divorced, Estranged
JDT had to find Danni's mom on Facebook to tell her about Danni's disappearance.

Sex Trafficking
JDT offers the possibility some sex traffickers are using C to control Danni.

CCTV
LE will not give JDT any of the surveillance or stills. JDT saw it only once on the news. It was not supposed to be shown. She implies that LE believed it would put "y'all in danger."
It was "so grainy" and JDT didn't think there was anything important in it. She doesn't think they can tell what cars are in the video or who was in them.

Clothing
Pink baseball cap with a donut
Black mellow mushroom shirt
DW says she had on leggings, LE says she had on jeans. (maybe they are just tight black skinny jeans?)

GPS
Confirms "GPS" is the dealer tracking device. There was no OnStar, insurance tracking other than the dealership one. She financed through the dealership. It plugs in under the dash.

(someone supplied very thorough info on this device earlier in the thread)

DW
We now have the origin of the rental car info(hearsay): "He said to my husband that he turned his car in around 1"

"(LE) followed surveillance after the Shell of Danniella and DW's cars separating at some point"
"Basically what he said was 'we were at Hurricanes...her friend RC was supposed to get off work round 10 o'clock...after we stayed at Hurricane's for awhile we headed over to Dublin's to wait for him to get off of work and as soon as he got off of work we were supposed to head over to Ollie's to eat dinner and all meet together."
JDT states Danniella had only just met DW and MK that night.

JDT claims DW has changed his story several times with the latest "and then I hear he told someone when he got to Dublins she just kept going." Keep in mind, this is hearsay of the hearsayest.

When asked why RC didn't take the phone, JDT can only speculate maybe it was because he and Danniella didn't see each other that often.

The phone
JDT says the phone automatically locks with a 6 digit pin to get in.
DW had offered to drop it off or meet her to give it to her but Mr.DT was out of town and JDT didn't feel safe. This is why they met at the local police station Friday morning (with Mr.DT in tow). JDT states that on the way to the Mobile PD HQ to file the report (as instructed by the local PD) Mr.DT was able to get into the phone. "We had to call a girlfriend of hers to get the code to get in. It was her work passcode or whatever she uses to get in."

When John points out that to make a phone call from the phone, it needs to be unlocked, JDT says she thinks he called from his phone and she was unable to verify because her phone (history) didn't go back that far. "I couldn't trace it...I even tried to get my records and they said they don't do that, they don't save them...Anyways..."

When asked how DW could have gotten her number, JDT suggests Danni may have had her as the emergency contact in the phone.

JDT confirms LE still has the phone.

Water Searches
No official water searches have been done (to JDT's knowledge), but they do have a retired searcher that is unofficially searching for her.

There are some informative comments on the video. In particular, it is supposedly possible to hold down and iphone's home button and ask Siri to make a call even if the phone is locked. This may explain DW's ability to use Danniella's phone to call mom, but not TT. It also does not explain JDT knowing which girlfriend to call (and her phone number)for the phone's passcode, or how the girlfriend knows it.

So someone would have to be familiar with that area? Example - a landscaping company? JMO

@otto Many thanks for bringing forward the DNV disappearance synopsis. Valuable reading for new members and a good refresher for the rest of us.

Just watching the latest interview with Danniella's mother in law. She said something about how she knew, when she first met with detectives, that they "found her, found her car." How did she know they were together, or does she mean that she didn't know until after she was told? Also, she said that all she really wanted was to have her "out of the water," almost as though she knew that Danniella was in the water.

@otto Many thanks for bringing forward the DNV disappearance synopsis. Valuable reading for new members and a good refresher for the rest of us.

The part that stood out for me is that the mother in law says that Danniella was signing custody over to her mother in law the Tuesday after she vanished. That's not how I remember it. I remember that Danniella had obtained an apartment, a car, and one of her major goals was to have her daughter full time when school started in September.

  • #615
I wonder if the mother in law claimed that Danniella intended to give full custody of her daughter to her mother in law because it can be viewed as one step towards Danniella abandoning her life and moving on - voluntary disappearance.

Well we know from the live broadcast that a friend of JDT lives right down the street. I’m not insinuating any guilt here just stating a fact that a friend of someone close to Daniellas circle lives very near the boat launch. So it is possible that Daniella or members of her circle were familiar with that area.

The boat launch is also considered a city park. Just looking at it on Google Maps, it's very tucked away in a neighborhood. There's not a direct path to it off of I-65. I would definitely wager that someone would have to be familiar with the area to know to go there.

So we know a friend of JDT lives nearby from the newscast. Curious how good of a friend this person is. Present enough in her life that DNV could have been familiar with her? Does DNV know anyone else in that area? Maybe friends or co-workers? Many people who live in Saraland work in Mobile. Any avid boaters or fishermen in DNV's life? I know these questions can't really be answered, but they're what's bouncing around in my head.

Too many dodgy characters in her life. Way too many. o_O

In the old threads LE or someone had that list itself posted for everyone to see, and getting an apartment, a car, and full time with her daughter were her goals, as you just said, otto. Let's see now, she got them all done except the last one, and the same day she got that car, she "was gone."........ This don't look too good for whoever had the most to gain by her being gone....moo

This may not be a popular opinion here but I think this was an accident. I believe she had a couple of drinks and got lost without her GPS/phone and accidentally ended up in the water. Occam's razor and seeing similar cases like that so frequently on here make me lean that way more so. I sincerely hope there is strong evidence if something else occurred. RIP Daniella.
