Agree.
I think we can agree that systematic abuse, escalating to outright torture were going on there, ending in double murder of minors.
That is most definitely "something," and it does not need to be forgiven at this point, but understood and prosecuted to the extent it still can be.
Tiny children cannot often understand, effectively resist, easily report on (esp when confined) or "forgive" their own torture and murder.
It is absolutely maddening and, I fully expect, runs counter to sermons on other themes this preacher might give.
I listened again to Joel Isham's preaching at KC & RC's vigil.
IMO
He's scared now for his own salvation and reputation as a spiritual leader because of his involvement with the parents, grandfather and having had custody of the 2 children before grandfather was given guardianship which led to the death of RC and the torturous death of KC.
We don't know if the parents were given permission by the court to live in the house again with the children after losing custody.
We don't know if Isham was counseling the adults and even visited the home when G'father had guardianship leading up to KC being last seen in Sept 2023.
We don't know what Isham knew about the restrictions,if any, the court placed on the parents & grandfather pertaining to the children.
For all we know the parents may have been given supervised visitation and Isham was the court appointed person to be there when the visits took place yet he knew the parents were living in the house.
Was Isham at the house during the 3 months that KC was missing before the Dec.8,2023 accident?
Hopefully the judge unseals the abuse investigation records which should answer these questions and more.
Comments on this thread, including mine, alluded to Isham giving social workers/judge a thumbs up on the parent's relationship with RC & KC, lotsa love between all 5 as he said during the vigil therefore vouching for the grandfather?
I think he knows what info about his involvement and recommendations may be coming down the tract and the purpose of his sermon focusing on the need of forgiveness according to Matthew 18-19 is prepping the community and his parishioners with the forgiveness scripture and the fear of not entering the Kingdom of God so no matter what he did or didn't do needs to be forgiven by them.
Isham's role has been under the radar until the Sat. night vigil where he told us that the 2 children lived with him for a short time in Dec 2023 which is when we know from court records the abuse investigation began and he now confirmed that RC & KC were removed from the home.
If this goes to trial I believe we'll see that Isham played a big role that led to the death of both children.
