Actually, the saying is the LOVE of money is the root of all evil, not money itself.
That saying gets mixed up all the time. There's nothing wrong with money - it's the love of it that is the problem, making it into a false idol.
I don't know if the love of money was the Duggar's downfall. Pride might have been their bigger weakness. IDK.
So the Duggars don't love money? I can't come up with any other reason why they would subject their family (especially the victims!) to this kind of scrutiny- knowing what they knew about the crimes their son commited. I don't believe the parents are naive. They could very well have seen this as an opportunity to "spread the word", but heck- with the risk of having their "secrets" exposed?? I can't believe pride was a factor in accepting a TV show...and getting paid to do so. They must have thought they did a good enough job in burying Josh's crimes. IMHO
