Am I correct in assuming by their postings that both Novo and Otto are qualified attorneys?

No, neither of us are. I at least have said as much several times. (ETA otto has said the same.)

I don't see why I have to be a lawyer to read a website on admittance to the bar in multiple jurisdictions, particularly not when I cite what I find there.

I think we all need to take a deep breath before this thread gets closed. I've seen it happen before so let's all try to stay on topic. Those are the rules we agreed to follow. So everyone take a happy pill or chocolate, whatever it takes and get back to business as usual. Okay????? Okay.

Very interesting opinions being stated here, unfortunately I have an early morning bar meeting to chair, so I am off to bed.

All attorney's are registered here WS's. I think paralegals are very well trained in the law because they are researches among the many jobs they are responsible for in a law office. If you are unsure and want specific information about the law it's always a good idea to ask an attorney here. But I see nothing wrong with Nova sharing the wealth of information available to her with us. I have a great respect for paralegals and anyone who works in a law office with attorneys. They really, really earn their money. lol jmo

Neither here nor there, but, Nova stated he's a he.

Before we all get spanked, better get back ontopic. So what's next? Baez said that IF Aruba wanted GG to return to answer more questions ,he would . Somehow I doubt that.

I don't think she is going to be found either. So I think he is going to walk free.

With GG's statement to ABC news about his new info that Robyn was abducted by human traffickers and cocaine dealers as the main money on the island. I mean what's that all about? Didn't he touch Robyn on the foot and signal her to return to shore?

Did a narco terrorist boat fly into the beach and take Robyn before she got to shore.

When asked to answer how that could happen he replied, I don't know.

THEN WHY SAY IT?

GG is clearly trying to deflect attention from himself to some boogeyman cocaine dealer (please}, he's lying.

He's trying to deceive the public. I was astounded this story would roll off his lips after all this time while he was snorkeling with her. He's being deceptive and the truth to GG is a stranger.

He tried clearing this up Sunday in one last interview with ABC's GMA.
Watch him eat his words in the video story.

I thought that the talk about the cartel and human trafficking was probably Baez's touch. We know how he likes to change the story to something 'more believable' than the original one being told. I remember that there was a buzz online about people believing that GG sold her to traffickers, to get her off the island so he could cash in the insurance policy. So Baez just took a shortcut, and cut his client out completely, and just blamed it on the cartel.

Well either he was lying then or lying now and he never went swimming with her. Either way the bell has already been rung about him snorkeling with her, even GG says so.

If GG was telling the truth, why would there be any need to make up another story and change the first.

I think the problem is that the snorkeling story resembles the Zenaida story--There are too many holes in it and people do not believe it. The fisherman saw them leave without getting in the water, there was no rough waters that day, and her body never showed up. So this guy has a problem. It is easier to blame it on the cartel so nobody expects to ever see her again.

And when he first told his story to investigators he did not know about the fishman's statement. So I think he is trying to taylor his story as he slowly finds details he was not aware of that were uncovered while he was in jail. And with the latest statement from the authorities about there being no storm in the area he is backpeddling fast. jmo

I wonder what Lillian Glass would have to say about GG????

Okay, what follows is total speculation on my part; at no time have I ever worked for Interpol:

I think it's one thing to lure a woman who doesn't speak English to a foreign country and then control her by confiscating her passport. If you are a Russian mobster, you can add a threat to her family back home to keep her in line.

I think it's quite another to abduct an educated, American woman and keep her for very long when all she has to do is get to an American embassy or any tourist hotspot where people who can help her speak English. I'm not saying it's impossible; I'm just saying it would require round-the-clock imprisonment/drugging and surveillance--AND a prayer that no customer would take pity on the victim and report her location to authorities.

(ETA it's also one thing to take a woman from one of the many cultures that consider a rape victim permanently "ruined" if not liable for an "honor killing"; it's quite another to abduct a woman from Western cultures that tend to be very sympathetic to such victims. The latter simply has more options and more motivation to get home.)

To be profitable, a woman forced into prostitution would have to be held near tourist centers; but that also means keeping her near people who might take pity and help her.

I think that is why they usually take very young girls who do not have any chance to grow into maturity and find their inner strengths. They usually beat them down and break their spirits first. I think that would be as lot harder to do with a grown woman, but not impossible I suppose.

Particularly if they tell the child your family is all dead. A child would then go into survival mode and do whatever they had to to stay alive thinking they could end up dead as well. And then they adapt. Not so with a grown woman who has been out and about in the world. jmo

Not to mention the customers are looking for much younger women - adult female prostitutes are $20 a dozen.

I wonder what Lillian Glass would have to say about GG????
I saw a body language analyst right after the first GG interview with RR. About all I remember is that when GG started talking he pulled his lips in....that meant he was not wanting to reveal anything...which I thought sort of went without saying. I think his body language says arrogant, just like his sidekick of late.

Veering off a titch, Does Geraldo post is interviews?
