What if none of them are enemies, but four friends of an enemy?

Or, 4 people who were main the support network of the one person who was slipping out of her control. IMO

Agree. I see a lot of people trying to analyse crimes through their own lense, which doesn’t work when you’re dealing with a disordered thinker.

If you look at this through a lense of narcissism or psychopathy it all makes sense IMO.
I have had experience with people who "hate" their ex's with a burning passion, not enough to actually try kill though but I can easily see someone who is consumed with that type of hate tipping the scale over into going through with attempting it!

2 of who wouldn't be on her side when she told them to talk some sense into their son.

Murder isn't rational but it isn't random either. Generally people will murder because it will benefit them in some way.

I'm not sure how randomly killing 4 people benefits Erin Patterson. You'd have to be stupid to think that 4/5 people would die and your life would be made better. Of course people will suspect you and you'll face negative consequences.

There's no reason to think Erin hates the Pastor and his wife, and there isn't good evidence that she hated the inlaws. A couple of frustrated texts doesn't prove that.

We already know she was lying about her health to get sympathy, and I think she thought she could be part of a mysterious poisoning (with even death) that she exploit for more sympathy.

The motive is very clear to me as someone who has lived experience with narcissists and how they operate. Simon had had enough was taking steps to remove himself from her control. She tried to use Don and Gail to regain control and it failed. She had to eliminate his support network in an attempt to reign him back in. Narcissistic rage when they lose control is a very real thing - just look at the Hannah Clarke case for example. Just because EP is a woman does not mean she’s not capable of being a family annihilator. All MOO only and all allegedly of course.

Oh, I must have missed that.

I remember reading Erin was puzzled by the potential DC diagnosis, but not that she thought the doctors' diagnosis for the 4 guests was incorrect.

Erin Patterson didn’t think anyone had consumed death cap mushrooms when she left hospital

Prosecutor Nanette Rogers is questioning Patterson about her time at Leongatha hospital on 31 July 2023 - two days after the fateful beef wellington lunch.

Rogers says Patterson left Leongatha hospital because she knew she had not consumed death cap mushrooms.

“I didn’t think any of us had,” Patterson says.

I totally agree with you on this. And there may be more re Simon pulling away from Erin than we are privy to.

Agree. It's all about control. And it was slipping through her fingers... straight into the individual BWs.
MOO

I think he began pulling away after he recovered from his mystery illness and began connecting the dots. He has said that he realised that he kept getting sick after spending time with EP.

Patterson disputes multiple witness’ claims

Ms Patterson disputed ever telling Katrina Cripps, a child protection worker, that she needed advice on telling her children about a serious illness. She denied telling Ms Cripps she invited guests to her home to tell them about a serious medical issue.

She disputed claims by Ian Wilkinson that she told lunch guests she had cancer. She disputed her ex-partner’s evidence where he claimed he was told by Don and Gail that Ms Patterson had ovarian cancer and that she was worried about telling the kids.

Ms Patterson denied the allegations had anything to do with why children were not at the fatal lunch.

Absolutely there would be more. Had SP met someone new perhaps? That would have been excluded from evidence for sure. Will be interesting to see what comes out after the trial. MOO.

that is something I have wondered about. A Nice single family man, loving father, would attract a lot of single moms who he might meet in daily life.

There is every possibility that Simon had met someone else and this definitely would have been excluded from evidence...

Or even a single woman who wasn't necessarily a mother.

To finish the above thought, EP testified that she did not believe that the lunch guests had eaten Death Caps.

OK Erin, then why were you certain that your kids were not in danger because you, allegedly, scraped the mushrooms off the leftover meat?

Make that make sense?

You claim the patients were mis-diagnosed, so you don't know why they are all so seriously ill.

The last time they were all known to be healthy was at your 'special' luncheon.

So if you don't know what made them so deathly ill, why aren't you rushing your children in to be tested and observered just in case?

Especially if you yourself claimed to be unwell during that time frame?

It's almost unbelievable that Erin would take photos of deathcaps on her scales, in her kitchen!

And then lie about them being Death Caps, even after the fungi expert identified them as such.

Erin says that fungi expert is incorrect, the doctors were incorrect, in her 'expert' opinion, when she first heard the diagnosis of the lunch guests, and the cell phone forensic experts are incorrect about her cell location.

The FB posts towards the family are just the tip of the iceberg, IMO. EP has deleted so much evidence and data, who knows whether there were more vitriolic messages towards SP and his family. We will never truly know the dynamics between EP and SP's family. But what we do know is enough to suggest that EP was indeed consumed by power, resentment, anger and control.
MOO.
