Justice has been served 😍 very much looking forward to what else will be revealed once reporting restrictions are lifted!

I've just woken up early and see this as a newsflash on my phone!

Brilliant job, jury! The right verdict.

So, so happy that Erin can't harm any more people now.

I feel greatly relieved as I believe very strongly that justices has been served, as long as the sentencing is adequate.

Sub Judice would be lifted now.

Are you sure about Sub Justice? I hate to say it, but there could be an appeal.

Are jurors allowed to talk about the case?

Erin Patterson has been found guilty of all charges

A Supreme Court jury has found Erin Patterson guilty of murdering three relatives by deliberately lacing a beef Wellington lunch with death cap mushrooms.

Patterson, 50, had pleaded not guilty to murder and attempted murder, telling the court the poisonous mushrooms were accidentally included in the meals she served to four relatives in 2023.

Patterson's parents-in-law Don and Gail Patterson both died after the Leongatha lunch, along with Gail's sister Heather Wilkinson. Heather's husband Ian Wilkinson survived after spending weeks in hospital.

Sitting in Morwell, the Supreme Court jury found Patterson guilty of murdering Don, Gail and Heather and guilty of the attempted murder of Ian.

As the verdict was handed down, Patterson did not express any obvious outward emotion, watching the process from inside the courtroom.

Well done Dr Rogers & Co, never doubted you.

A reminder, Sub judice is still in play until after sentencing.

Gosh yes, her poor children (who are the same ages and genders as mine) are such huge victims in this too, cannot even fathom. I hope they have a lot of support from Simon, the remaining family and the whole community.

from post on first page of thread -

Note in the event of an Appeal subsequent to verdict:
Appeals are usually heard by senior judges who are not likely to be influenced by the media, therefore responsible comment is usually considered acceptable once a trial has concluded, regardless of if there is going to be an appeal.

ABC is showing, an associate of EP: surrounded by reporters, and cameras, coming out of the court room.
Wonder what will be reported.
