This mass murder event is only the start of how the public know Erin. There is much much much more from her background which the jury never got to see. She's clearly ASPD, IMO.

In your opinion, do you think she actually hid it well from family? Or not really, but it's easy to be in deep denial with a family member like her?

I think the jury got this verdict right. There's no reasonable doubt, in my opinion. The evidence added up, and I think she is deeply deeply troubled.

I was corrected by Ellery earlier for referring to Erin as a mass murderer, but Xanther Mallet - Criminologist, just called her a mass murderer on Channel 7 News.

Frankly, I have no time for Xanthe Mallet.

It's multiple murder for sure. Mass for me connotes a crowd of victims targeted by a shooter, or a bomber, etc. But hey, semantics.

The award for best word on this forum, I think, goes to @Megnut ... LIAR-RHEA ... did i spell that right? I cannot find it back in the threads. So much of it, but the jury saw through it.

Regarding those prison van photos, they are very unflattering to her. Why were they allowed to be taken? It looks as though she was very upset. Not that I feel sorry for her, but it's weird that someone took them and then released them right after the verdict. I don't get the point?

They said this photo was taken when she was in the back of a prison van last week sometime.

"You're goin' home in the back of a divvy van!"

For o/s posters, that is a traditional chant when someone is removed from a venue like the MCG. A long day on the beers at the cricket is usually the cause. The poms will understand.

As a broadcaster just said on 7 News, she has no remorse.

I can't speak on all hospitals, but it just so happens my son spent two days in a private hospital in Sydney last week. I sat with him for most of that time and had to duck back to my accommodation and get a warmer jacket because it was cold in the room.

I stand by my belief that she did not go to the hospital expecting to stay. My belief is supported by evidence she had Simon cancel their daughter's ballet rehearsal which was to be Monday evening.

You could speculate about why she had two bags and what was in them, but at the end of the day we simply don't know.
Imo
Hospitals always do provide blankets (even heated ones) to the patients in the ER. You, by your own admission, weren't the patient.

When we found out she was charged (we all thought she was guilty before the trial because we know how unhinged she is), one of her friends tried to bully us all into supporting Erin. They also tried to character assassinate some of us in court. Can you believe that? None of us are charged with murder? They are the most immature people.

It's like a cult - and Erin was the leader.
The facts of the case, EP's own statements, and this sort of insight strengthen my suspicion that she has a personality disorder like vulnerable narcissism. Flying monkeys and everything! The fan club won't stick around long, she'll turn on them the moment they're useless to her.

These are the sorts of traits I'm talking about:
  • defensive
  • avoidant
  • hypersensitive to others’ opinions
  • vigilant for criticism
  • neurotic
  • negative about the past
  • fatalistic

I believed she was guilty from day dot, but now that the verdict is in, it's galling how much effort went into protecting herself from the consequences of her own actions.

If it was just a terrible mistake, a typical person would be working with legal counsel to find a way to own up to these stupid, deadly actions and avoid the harshest penalties. But this is a woman who couldn't even pretend to do that.

She cannot seem to accept the idea that someone else suffered more than she did, or that she is the cause of her own problems. Not even if it means the rest of her life is in prison.

EP had no lawful justification for her actions. She intended to lure them there under false pretences to administer a meal laced with undetectable toxic mushrooms. She was fully aware what a "death cap" is, how to find them, how to hide them in meals and what the consequences could be. Her actions were conscious, deliberate and voluntary. She was directly responsible for three deaths.

So does that mean she loses her house?
Only if the property and assets are proceeds of a crime, or gang/drug related. Normally when in prison people have a POA signed as they are allowed to own property and have money. The victims (family) can file a civil suit which would be encouraged and can financially sue EP.

I'm pleased the trial is over, and the Jury came to the correct decision, imo. EP is a dangerous individual. The population is a lot safer with her behind bars.
MOO 🐮

They're textbook paparazzi shots. I doubt permission was given. The media just kept their powder dry until after the verdict, and now every outlet is using them, even the ABC, which is usually less sensationalist than other networks.

MOO

Was about to make a similar comment and that I am not surprised.

IMO she had reckoned on a 50/50 chance of getting off.

Now the investigations into ANY other deaths and unexplained illnesses of people she associated with, including her parents and any other "friends". I feel it was obvious she was not expecting anyone to figure out it was mushroom poisoning because she was comfortable with this as a method she had used before and not been caught, such as her ex Simons mysterious illnesses that almost killed him. I hope Police can gather enough evidence to charge her again with thel attempted murder of Simon. Can she be charged with attempted murder of Simon because she had invited him to lunch and if he went, would have been poisoned too? I guess unless there was a poison filled "beef wellington" with his name engraved on it in the fridge or bin, perhaps not. When she said to her "friend" "see you soon", did she think she will appeal and walk out of jail until the appeal is heard?

Although the amateur psychologist in me sees the behavior pattern of a covert narcissist, I don't get the impression that she has those attributes which are often attributed to psychopaths.

Narcissists hold deep grudges and react strongly to slights -- real or imagined.

Psychopaths just enjoy inflicting pain on others for the sake of it.

can she be both?

She killed 3 people and tried to kill (at least) 2 others. I don't really care about her discomfort.

Oh I forgot to add! SO many thanks to our verified insider, @Detechtive, for giving invaluable exclusive insights on your *former* friendship with the murderess- I can’t even imagine how surreal this must have been and how many whirlwind emotions you’ve been through for two years, and all the while generous enough to be be here sharing with us. You’re a sobering reminder that it’s not just the directly involved who are victims, that there are always ripples of destruction and hurt caused by these selfish evil people.

I hope this verdict brings you and the other friends and people who knew her affected by this, some semblance of closure and peace 💜💚💜

(And no comment to the friends who’ve staunchly stuck by her innocence, I can’t help but wonder how she/ they’re feeling right now- will they insist the whole thing is completely wrong and injust? Or will they have the humility and self awareness to admit they’ve been fooled and wrong, if not out loud, them at least to themselves…🤔

I don't think they will pursue other charges. Erin is likely going to go away for life. IMO

It has been stated, EP's supporters, thought she would go home.
Last week, they added screens around her home, so media would not be able to take photos.
They filled her fridge, waiting for her return.

Channel 7 are now waiting for the Chief Detective, who arrested EP, to speak.
Can't wait.
