Peter D can't be attacked in any way for what he did in the coroner's court . Reason being he gave no sworn evidence - the same situation obtains for any lawyer representing an absent client in the CC. That was the beauty of sending Peter along . As for the divorce matter - there he may be more legally exposed. But the state would have to prove what he knew at the time to take action. Frankly they won't bother. It's all too costly and hard.
I have no illusions that Peter knew he was lying in the coroner's court. That's why he was sent there.
I take on board your point re the Coroners court stuff,, he should have been censured for it at the time....
My theory re the divorce... clearly , his divorce he obtained to marry JC, is false. He was a widower then, and is today, in regard to his 3rd 'marriage' which is as invalid as his 2nd marriage. Peter was his legal rep at the 'divorce' from Lynn ((divorce #1 ) and his 2nd 'divorce ' ( another invalid divorce because that 2nd marriage was unarguably invalid.)
I contend that Peter knew that Lynn was indeed dead , and that Dawson murdered her.
These all seem very trivial points, but JC and a good lawyer could run a substantial case for civil recompense, for being negotiated into an invalid marriage, plus having a child under that misapprehension. Certainly, Lynn's 2 daughters could unwind all the property assets back to the last day of their mothers life, and claim 50% of Dawson's estate, whatever it is.
Which means that Dawson's 3rd 'wife' ( which she isnt, as her marriage is invalid, also, since the 2nd marriage and 2 nd divorce was invalid ) isn't entitled to any more than half, and the other half, of whatever source would be considered to be Lynn's childrens estate. The child of the 2nd 'marriage' would have to contest that with Lynn's girls.
To me, there is something substantial in this course of action, as a method of extracting some justice, in a tangible form. Some thing, at least. It doesn't help Joanne, and doesn't help Sue #3 but those girls are certainly owed.
Anyway... really, its only theory, but it is certainly possible, where Dawson is left with nothing. And that seems rational, to me.
