ABN Lookup

Search name:
Robert Gordon Walker
Postcode 2478 (Ballina postcode)
:eek:o_O:oops:
I'd forgotten about this. I looked up ABN's for the W's last week, but couldn't actually turn up any listings anywhere for any of the business names. Hmmm
When did DdH's parents pass away?

yep.

If you look a little further it lists a bunch of 'brochure services'... ( remind you of someone?)

I'm curious about what business he may have been conducting on Norfolk Island back in the mid-sixties

I just wanted to point out that the title "company Director " isn't necessarily some one really wealthy , even though it is a form of wealth creation by millions of people ....

A friend of mine for example received a payout re thalidomide . His father who was a publican at the time sent up a family trust like company by buying industrial sheds and his son was considered a Director .
It built his deserved windfall into wealth for his health for life .

I am more referring to the fact that travel costs money and with so much of it going on within the W family, including all the years up until recently, a 'cafe' in the 1960s doesn't cut it for me.

Most of the cards related to this story show "company director" - is all I mean

Yes. Like the butcher traveling so much. There are more I just have to find them again.

Interesting birthdate...
There's a reason that the expression "across the ditch" (or across the dutch if you are a Kiwi! sorry @KiwiNZ) was coined. Travel and migration between NZ and Oz in the late 1960s and 1970s was exploding and required little paperwork and provided many reciprocal arrangements (work, social security etc). I wouldn't be surprised if this butcher wasn't the only one travelling frequently at this time. Is this the suspected MJR? I thought he was discussed and ruled out? I remember, along with another WS member, commenting that anyone who writes Kiwi on a border control card has an antipodean sense of humour and disdain!

On one of those trips he simply took the family to New Zealand for two weeks perhaps in the school holidays.

You can be a non-working director as an investor in several companies.

Yeah i knew what you meant but I wasn't never certain just a cafe was a fact for it to be enough to travel etc besides one cafe can be a franchise for example , the idea from a cafe only came about by him mentioning he worked at their cafe I didn't really ever take that to mean that was all they did or owned or why they traveled a lot and owned exclusive addresses , As far as I know we don't know what and how they gained their wealth or why they have a business or investments or directorships , That was my point as well , as it is quite common , unless you already know they are crooks or something untoward ?
All I know for sure is that Rb and DdH were left in the will .
