I'd forgotten about this. I looked up ABN's for the W's last week, but couldn't actually turn up any listings anywhere for any of the business names. Hmmm
When did DdH's parents pass away?

Interesting to see they've been to New Zealand, in light of @gymtonic's recent post re NZ. I hadn't thought about RB venturing over there, but maybe so. Interesting.
I just wanted to point out that the title "company Director " isn't necessarily some one really wealthy , even though it is a form of wealth creation by millions of people ....
A friend of mine for example received a payout re thalidomide . His father who was a publican at the time sent up a family trust like company by buying industrial sheds and his son was considered a Director .
It built his deserved windfall into wealth for his health for life .

There's a reason that the expression "across the ditch" (or across the dutch if you are a Kiwi! sorry @KiwiNZ) was coined. Travel and migration between NZ and Oz in the late 1960s and 1970s was exploding and required little paperwork and provided many reciprocal arrangements (work, social security etc). I wouldn't be surprised if this butcher wasn't the only one travelling frequently at this time. Is this the suspected MJR? I thought he was discussed and ruled out? I remember, along with another WS member, commenting that anyone who writes Kiwi on a border control card has an antipodean sense of humour and disdain!Yes. Like the butcher traveling so much. There are more I just have to find them again.

I am more referring to the fact that travel costs money and with so much of it going on within the W family, including all the years up until recently, a 'cafe' in the 1960s doesn't cut it for me.
Most of the cards related to this story show "company director" - is all I mean
