This seems odd to me, as if the mother already knows she didn't get on the plane.
Ifi was told the same story from the housemates (that she was dropped off near the airport) my assumption would be that she got on the plane and was missing at the destination rather than gone missing before getting on the plane.
I wonder if she asked the boyfriend if he'd seen her first? (Presumably not, otherwise he wouldn't be thinking that Phoebe was ignoring him because of something he did)

16th was the following day. So by then she, or someone in Qld, had been alerted by the boyfriend in WA that she hadn’t arrived on 15th as he expected. Previous posts indicate he had apparently waited at the destination airport for quite some time for her, then raised the alarm.
But I do see what you mean.
I wonder if the mother was the first person to ask the housemates what happened on morning of 15th knowing PB lived with them and expecting they’d know.

The BF knew that PB didn't arrive in Perth on the 15th, surely someone would have rung family members on the same day or early morning on the 16th, because he was unable to make contact with PB. I assume the next thing they would have mostly done is ask the housemates, and check if she boarded the flight. The mum would have known before the police issued the alert.

I would still love to know when was the actual confirmed last sighting, and by who, of PB - and I mean PRIOR to the “alleged” sightings on morning of 15th near the airport?
I have not seen this mentioned anywhere. Surely police have narrowed this down early on and would know but still the ongoing theme seems to be stuck on her being in the car on 15th. I’ve been waiting for someone to pop up and say “well I talked to her on the 12th at such and such location and she was fine” but nothing?
The supposed visits to IGA looking unkempt, there’s no date provided for those anywhere. Could have been weeks or months ago.
So IMO she may have actually been “missing” for much longer…
Anyone could have been using her phone sending texts and posting stuff.
All just my thoughts.

JMO The media probably repeats information about Pheobe to inform people who were - away at the time or for whatever reason were not aware about her missing. I also wonder if someone may have seen her and then went on a holiday or something, maybe work. When they return they can catch up on the news which could bring fresh information to the investigation.

timelines are imprecise but I believe she accessed her bank account 5/14... they said not accessed since so I am thinking 5/14 was last:

I also think if some one was controlling/robbing her, they would have emptied it and most US banks/ATMs have cameras- same? .... When was the "10 days" text? 5/12 reported here so I do not think it was super long but any delay searching for the missing is a problem.

1. no words at all from Pheobe's father- whomever he is
2. no explained reason why Pheobe broke with her mother and her messages to herself seem to be thinking should she speak to her again? and then, no.
3. do people hitchhike in these rural areas at all? Is it considered totally unsafe? (I do not really see Pheobe not using her plane ticket... but is she impulsive?)

Are we forgetting she’s 17. Do we know who purchased the ticket for her or who gave consent? Her mum?

This (her age) would imply that PBs legal guardian or parent would have had to consent especially travelling alone. If I knew my child was going on a plane on their own, I would be phoning them before they leave and asking to text me when they land.

The thing is, I don't think she has a legal guardian or parent in charge. It sounds like she's been on her own a lot over the last few years, whether legal or not. Her parents appear to have not been active in her life at all recently, which is sad. Why would her mum check in with her if she didn't have a lot of contact with her? You're looking at this through the eyes of a parent who likely has all their underage children in their care, with mutual love and respect between you all. In this instance you'd probably take them to the airport yourself, or at least send a text or make a phone call to wish them well, and check in when they're due to land. That's a healthy, functional relationship, which it appears Pheobe has been lacking for many years.
