From my previous post above, the Judge in Bundy court today pointed out that TB was a victim of DV.

This is probably the reason why she was living in the bus on the property!

“The male housemate of missing teen Pheobe Bishop has been spotted for the first time since her disappearance, as it was revealed his partner had been living in a bus outside his Gin Gin home.”

(Sorry, is paywalled, but the first sentence gives the meaning)

I'm local to Bundaberg. My 'agenda' is to provide a local perspective.

I joined Web Sleuths in 2018, not for this case. I typically follow along cases, but wouldn't normally post. I'm trying to help by providing a local perspective and not sensationalise every rumour or comment.
Thankyou for the local perspective ….

I have been wondering with the change in weather (getting cooler) if there maybe a few Grey Nomads out and about in those National Parks who may have seen something or have dash cam???

It’s about the time of year they start heading north …. So I am hoping they may be able to provide Police with info…. Just IMO

Definition:
(Grey Nomad …. In Australia means retired persons and travelling around Australia with a caravan or similar, at whatever pace they chose)

More on TB’s court appearance today:-

Sergeant Kennedy-Grills said the accused had not been truthful in her statements to police.

"She effectively has been homeless, she was moving out of the home, the bus, at the time of the disappearance of the other person," she told the court.

Magistrate McInnes said he would consider the period between Ms Bromley's court appearances as well as the care needs of the children.

He said the accused seemed to have an "unhealthy interest" in firearms, but her lack of a criminal record and that she may have been subject to "coercion, violence and duress" were in her favour.”

Legal Aid lawyer Alexandra Sanders represented Ms Bromley and said her client had an extremely limited criminal history and that the outstanding matters were yet to be dealt with.

Ms Sanders told the court Ms Bromley cared for two children, including one living with a disability, as part of a shared custody arrangement.

"In respect to the firearms located in the vehicle, the modified sawn-off rifle was not operable, so it wasn't a weapon able to be used," she told the court.

Police search for fifth day in Good Night Scrub park for evidence of missing Pheobe Bishop

“On Tuesday, police started their fifth day combing through dense bushland at Good Night Scrub National Park, about 40 kilometres south of Gin Gin.

It was revealed on Monday that evidence may have been removed from the national park before police began searching the area on Friday, more than a week after Pheobe went missing.

Detective Thompson said several items police had retrieved from the national park believed linked to the investigation had been sent for forensic examination.

He would not confirm the nature of the items.”

Temporarily inoperable: This generally entails making the firing mechanism inoperable, e.g. removing the bolt.
A firearm is made temporarily inoperable when:
  • for a firearm designed to allow its bolt, breech block, firing pin or other integral part of the firing mechanism to be removed – if the part is removed and securely stored separately from the firearm, or
  • for another firearm – if the firearm’s trigger is secured by a trigger lock and the lock’s key is securely stored separately from the firearm.
I know nothing about guns but wouldn't it be obvious to the police if this was done? And legally, even if it doesn't work, it's seems to be illegal to have a replica in public.

Permanently inoperable: Proof that a firearm has been rendered permanently inoperable will need to be supplied to Weapons Licensing. (assume TB didn't have this as charged)

Forgive my ignorance,
but I cannot wrap my head around the rubbish strewn on property

Is it even legal?
Are there no bins provided?
Collecting the rubbish?

Don't local authorities intervene?
This is a town, rural sure, but not some wilderness.

Not to mention DEAD animals lying on property!
Stench, etc.

Isn't it health hazard?
Some kind of epidemic starting? 😐

SMH in bewilderment!

"Heartbroken mum

hits back at cruel trolls

as speculation about her missing daughter Pheobe Bishop runs rampant.

On Tuesday,
the teen's mother Kylie Johnson
shared an emotional message to Facebook in which she said she was
'finding it hard to get out of bed'.

'To find the strength to put one foot in front of the other and know what to do, what to think or what to say,'
she continued.

'People have judgements, accusations and continue (to) say untruths.

I'm not going to correct you or be investing what little strength I have to be correcting these statements or people.

We as a family are just trying to go through the motions of waiting for Phee to come home'.

The post was quickly inundated with messages of support with friends and followers of the case urging Ms Johnson to ignore the trolls."

This is typical of someone with a mental illness and or substance abuse. It would be classed as a health hazard in Australia, but once again in a small town with limited resources, it would take a while for the wheels of motion to turn before something was done.

Regarding the friend/boyfriend in Perth and how she could afford the trip.

I wonder if the friend/boyfriend relocated to do fifo work. If so possible they shouted her the ticket. It’s a reasonably common move and not uncommon, especially for young people earning a lot of money to spend it on friends.

A 10 day trip also makes sense if the friend was working an on and off roster?

Just a thought.

If that person is a real friend/boyfriend and has nothing to do with her disappearance, I hope they are ok too. It would be hard to think a friend taking a trip to visit you could be unfolding like this.

Sorry, I'm playing catch up again.

Is there a known connection between the boyfriend and the room mates?

Supposed to travel with something she didn’t want to?
I don't believe there is a connection between the boyfriend or the room mates. I have thought about your second question though. Was something set up that Pheobe wasn't comfortable about and tried to pull out either at the last minute, or only found out about the plan last minute and didn't agree with it?

I’d like to retract the costs I quoted.. I just investigated further.. Qantas is min $700 to max $3600 EACH WAY according to their website. How the hell could she afford that?!?
Good question. A return flight would be in the vicinity of $2000. That's a lot to save for someone in her position. Whilst she could have been laser focused on her goal, and I believe she was employed at the time (support work?), it's still an ask. Especially if it's true she was struggling to pay for items at the supermarket. Perhaps she took on extra work, or other extra curricular activities?

I wish a stable relative would have stepped up to take in PB.
Maybe there wasn't one, which is sadder still.

This adds an interesting element. Whilst DV may have played a part in this relationship, (as suggested by the magistrate) I wonder what the reason was for her to move out at that point? Was it a particularly volatile time in the house? Or did TB lie about this aspect to look more like the victim?

I'm horrified, just horrified, that she had any form of custody of those kids and let them live in that filth. There had been no mention of where the kids were living, but I'd assumed she'd lost custody, based on the train wreck her life appeared. Those are another 2 kids who don't really stand much of a chance at a healthy upbringing by the sounds of it.

We also like to call people who live like this feral. Along with the issues you mention, they are often uneducated, unemployed, living on government benefits and generally don't contribute much to society, if anything. (I'm not implying that mental illness makes one feral, or uneducated etc, I'm just saying they are all potential reasons why people live like this.)

The same article also reported that Inspection Ryan Thompson addressed the media on Tuesday morning, saying police were trying to work out what evidence had been moved from the search site after they “received information”.

Quote from above:

"...after they “received information”.

This is interesting!

Suggests that someone knows something.

It reminds me of another quote by famous Aussie detective Ron Iddles:

"I've always said
there is someone in the community
who knows the answer to just about every unsolved homicide."

(Ooops,
I have already quoted this Officer twice on WS :)
In Samantha M. and Karen Carter threads.
But I think he is spot on.
And, although I live faaaaaar away, I seem to be the propagator of Australian LE ;))

Quote from the link:

Surely the magistrate wouldn't take into account childcare responsibilities in granting bail to someone who was "effectively homeless" when the children have another home? How bizarre. I suspect the bail is strategic in some way.

I know fire is a potential hazard but in these type of situations of piled up detritus, can people make a bonfire on their own land? It'd surely be more hygienic to burn up or mounds of litter than have it festering? JMO
